It’s good to see you. Just what did I say you all have? Why did I say you were happy? You’re just overjoyed from deep within your hearts, aren’t you? Why is that? It’s because you have the hope of going to the White Palace. So, remember how I told you in the past? I told you there would be hardships.
Hardship → Patience → Refinement → Hope
So, I said that hardship creates patience.
Since hardship creates patience, what did I say patience creates? I said it creates refinement. Then, since patience creates refinement, what does this refinement create? It creates hope. And since it creates refinement, I said that refinement creates hope. Then, I explained this to you like this in the past, didn’t I? So, after hope, we move on to success, heaven, and the White Palace Heaven. But now that you have studied quite a bit, you need to understand this well.
If you tell someone to endure hardship, who would do it? I’m telling you, no one will. Just tell them to endure hardship. Right now, aren’t there many people struggling—losing their homes, unable to pay rent, unable to pay their phone bills? If you tell them to endure that, do you think they can actually do it? They resent the government. They resent the politicians, don’t they? And they can’t afford tutoring for their own children. They can’t send them to cram schools. There are things like that. Does enduring that feel good? It’s hard. So, telling people to endure hardship is a very difficult issue. That is why young people have a gap of about four years after graduating from university. Why? Because they have to study for employment exams. Since they can’t enter university right away. Then when do they get married? They have to get a job and save money first.
So, the government said they would give me 300 million won. It’s free of charge. They said they would give 150 million won to women and 150 million won to men. Then, if you receive 300 million won, will you develop patriotism toward the country or not? You won’t hate the politicians. You won’t feel resentment toward the rich either. It isn’t the taxes your mothers and fathers paid. You are receiving it from the taxes paid by the rich. Just because we receive government benefits doesn’t mean it’s money paid by the poor. That amount is minimal. You are receiving senior allowances—or the basic welfare benefits that the poorest people receive—using taxes paid entirely by conglomerates and the wealthy. Yet, they tell the elderly to endure unconditionally. They tell the elderly to endure without receiving basic welfare benefits. Is that even possible?
My son isn’t answering his phone. My daughter isn’t answering hers. There are even fathers without children. After retiring, he lived a conscientious life, but now he has no money. Then, he got swindled by some shady guy and lost even what little money he had left. Just yesterday or the day before, that man killed five members of his own family and tried to kill himself, but he just couldn’t bring himself to die. He just couldn’t bring himself to die. So he ran away. He was arrested, though. But was he a bad person? No. He was doing a great job with his real estate sales business, but he was wiped out in one fell swoop. It’s just because of the current economic downturn. He built the houses with money he toiled away to pay interest, but since they aren’t selling, his father, mother, wife, son, and daughter are about to be burdened with an enormous debt of hundreds of billions of won by creditors.
So, thinking it would be better to die than to live like that, he killed his mother and father, his son and daughter, and finally, his wife. He killed everyone at once inside the house, and then tried to kill himself but couldn’t because she ran away. That must have caused the whole house to be filled with screams and chaos. That is the reality we live in. Why did he endure such hardship and do such a thing? It is because there is no such thing as a heavenly palace. Does he have hope for heaven or not? If he has hope for heaven, even if he is completely ruined here and his parents end up buried in debt, that is nothing. Do you understand what I mean? Anyone who goes through something like that will go through it. It is something they naturally intend to experience. You just have to file for bankruptcy. Everything is gone.
Even if hundreds of billions of won in debt come your way, you can just report it and say, “Oh, my son made a mistake and incurred that debt, so we can’t pay it,” And how happy is it to live a poor life? You can be happy just living on handmade noodles and ramen. You have to know how to do that, too. Life is about becoming rich, becoming poor, becoming lowly—experiencing everything. That is when these people attempt suicide right here. Listen carefully. The suicide rate needs to go down after listening to the Sky Palace lectures. Before that, you are misunderstanding. You all have Heaven, don’t you?
What must this suffering be transformed into? Hope. What kind of hope must this suffering be transformed into? The hope of the White Palace, Heaven. It is the hope of the White Palace, Heaven.
Suffering → Patience → Refinement → Hope
White Palace Heaven Hope → Refinement → Patience → Suffering

If you have this, things like this are a piece of cake. Then, no matter what kind of trials come, trials will come. No, then what kind comes? Let’s say there is a trial. It is a very intense trial. Do you waver just because this trial has come? What do you do when trials come? You endure. No matter what kind of trials come, you can endure them. Trials are hard to bear. Then, if you endure like this, what happens next? You will endure hardship. Then you must have hope to overcome trials, endure, and transform hardship into something else. You must regard hardship as a source of joy and pleasure. Why? Because you must go through hardship so that when you go to heaven, your level rises, for example. If you become rich but cannot help those who have nothing, just sit around doing nothing, and leave things behind, what will happen? Your level will drop drastically.
If you share what you have with others and experience their hardships together, that hardship becomes Heaven itself; that is what it means to be a neighbor to Heaven. Those who become wealthy and distance themselves from hardship are bound to fall into corruption. I tell you, those who distance themselves from hardship head toward corruption. Imagine if that person’s property sales went well. They will fall into corruption. They cannot endure ruin because they have developed a taste for corruption. The problem is thinking that they will succeed just because their property sales went well in the past. Hardships must be present in between. So, we should do the opposite. The Bible is written this way. When interpreting this, you must do it this way.
As long as you have the hope of heaven, any refinement, patience, or hardship is just child’s play. That is why the Bible says that suffering produces patience. That is a wrong idea. The Bible says so. Then you need to interpret it like this: Does suffering produce patience? Everything goes wrong for the kids. They can’t get married. They can’t find a job. They just lose face in front of their parents. They just end up ruining their lives by the age of 50, relying on their mom and dad. Remember I said 30 years ago that we should start a campaign to help our country’s youth get married? A massive crisis is coming to South Korea. But it is a relief that I am here. Someday, someday, even if I don’t want to, I will be dragged along and the day will come when I have to do it.
If I go to a place like that and stand there, it really suits me.
If I just stand there, bang on the desk once, and glare, the Republic of Korea… the civil servants will think, “It’s finally here. We need to practice extreme frugality now.” Huh Kyung-young clearly gives a lot back to the people. He will definitely propose giving 1.5 million won a month to everyone over 18, and we need to be prepared for our budget to be cut. And if I glare once and hit the desk, people will think, “No other leader has ever slammed a desk with the same aura as me.” Then, if I practice by drinking water, put down the cup, and hit the desk, the cup will levitate. The cup will float up into the sky. It will levitate and fall. The cup will shatter. Then the entire nation will think, “Wow, the time has come.”
That kind of thing comes out on video without a single thing missing. Once it comes out forcefully, the political circles and the civil service tremble in fear whenever I appear. Then, they all know that I am conducting audits or inspections. So, no one can deceive me. Then, the money that is needlessly leaking away in South Korea flows into your pockets and circulates. That is why the hope of heaven must come first for the process of refinement to be worthwhile. If you chase pleasures without this, when this comes, you start plotting suicide. Killing your entire family, thinking you won’t let anyone look like you need anything. What is that? You must humble yourself when you should and rise when you should; you must adapt to this freely. Thinking, “We live well, but I won’t let anyone look like we’re living in poverty,” that kind of pride is bad.
Does anyone really want to end up living the life of an ant? That is wrong. A spider can become an ant. An ant can become a cicada. So, as long as we have the hope of heaven, no matter how bad things come our way, we can just think of it as a process. Even in the coldest winter, if you look at a cherry blossom tree, the flowers will bloom someday. It’s certain, isn’t it? You just have to endure it for a while, since it’s cold. But do you have to live as the only rich person? If your family experiences poverty, there is happiness to be found there as well. When you go to a place where a lavish feast is laid out, you feel like you can’t digest it. But on a humble table—just a bowl of dried radish greens soup with nothing but soybean paste—eating like that brings peace of mind. You get to taste that kind of poverty, don’t you?
You shouldn’t view your travels as being limited to just one place; you should think of it as traveling from wealthy neighborhoods to poor ones. You shouldn’t think, “Did this happen to me? Is this bad luck?” You need to do the opposite. The Bible says that when you experience hardship, you must naturally endure and be refined, and that if you bear the suffering, hope will come. That is just a formality. It is not wrong. However, there is a limit to how much humans can endure hardship. Therefore, you must first teach children a sense of their mission—why they were born—right when they are young. Only then will they not stray later on. They will be firmly grounded, like a weight on a scale.
But the children have no direction. If you leave them like that, can they overcome hardship? If you tell them, “Hey, hardship is about endurance. You have to endure it,” will they actually bear it? It won’t work. It’s the final hope of heaven. That’s why people call this “rewarding good and punishing evil.” People without religion think of it as rewarding good and punishing evil—encouraging good deeds and forbidding evil. Then, without any purpose, the children realize that isn’t their hope. They start thinking, “Why do adults tell us not to do evil when it’s actually more fun? Why do they tell us to do good when it’s tiring?” The children change like this. They ask, “Why do adults only teach us things that are exhausting? There is fun and enjoyable over there, but you keep us away and tell us to sit at home and study.” If you do that, they ask, “What on earth is this? This just isn’t right.”
You have hope. Our family is a family of hope; we are all going to Heaven. So let’s hold back on worldly pleasures for a while. And let’s serve. Let’s give to others. That is why I have spent my entire life serving since I was young. So, looking back on my past, it was all about things like 55 years of free meal service, 15 years of rural volunteering, and what else? Umbrella volunteering—giving out umbrellas when it rained—that I did in my 20s. Then, I distributed 1 million copies of Buddhist and Christian scriptures. I tell anyone who did that during their youth to come forward. When I did it, a few of those books came to me. If you look at them, wow, are they there or not? Free donation of Buddhist scriptures—this was back when even the monks didn’t know that Buddhist scriptures existed among the people of South Korea.
I went to the Translation Center at Dongguk University, approached the director, and sweet-talked him into giving me a discount on the books. I got them and distributed them nationwide. The abbots would say, “Please send 500 copies,” or “Just 300.” But the monks should have given them to me. I mean, this was back when postage and shipping fees were expensive. I spent an enormous amount of money on this. So, whenever there was a major Buddhist event, I was the centerpiece. A very young man. I mean, what did Hyeong-gyeong-yeong do so well? There are so many senior monks in Korean Buddhism. Look, he’s standing next to the Sri Lankan monk. And the interpreters are standing behind him. Ah, this is President Kang Seok-ju. Sri Lanka is practically the Supreme Patriarch of the world. The Supreme Patriarch of Sri Lanka. And who is this person? Park Wan-il, a professor at Dongguk University and the President of the National Buddhist Lay Association. He’s standing right here in the center, even more so than the President of the National Buddhist Lay Association, isn’t he?
I am someone who spends a tremendous amount of money distributing Buddhist scriptures, whereas this person holds a mere honorary position. Next is the Supreme Patriarch of Japanese Buddhism. This is a gathering where all the Supreme Patriarchs of the world’s Buddhism are present. In front of us, a million Buddhists are gathered in Yeouido Plaza. And this is just before the lantern procession. This is the Grand Lantern Assembly. That Grand Lantern Assembly was probably held in Yeouido, before it became a park. It was the very first time. I am standing right there in the center console. So, how many Bibles and Buddhist scriptures have I distributed? You saw the Buddhist scripture book. Shine the light on the Buddhist scripture book.
It says it was donated to the Korean Buddhist Service Association. Then, shine a light on the card inside. If you look at the card, it says Huh Kyung-young, President of the Korean Buddhist Service Association. Wait, did I do this? The Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism issued an order to appoint me as the President of the Korean Buddhist Service Association, so put up here the letter of appointment I received from Secretary-General Hwang Jin-kyung. Let’s take a look at the letter of appointment that Secretary-General Hwang Jin-kyung gave me. It’s not like I just did whatever I wanted with Buddhism. As for the Buddhist Service Association and elderly welfare, this was given by Monk Park Sam-jung from prisons nationwide. It is the letter of appointment for the Association President. It came from the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism. So, this is an action taken by a divine being when he was in his 30s. If you look at people in their 30s these days, they aren’t even getting married and it’s a mess.
But back when I was in my 30s, distributing a million copies of a book that cost over 10,000 won—sometimes around 20,000 won—that thing… Why do you keep posting only that? Don’t you have the letter of appointment? Go find that photo of the letter of appointment and put it in the front. You don’t have to give it to me right now. You are the president. Yes, this was given by Buddhism. It was given to me by Venerable Park Sam-jung, the president of the National Prison Inmate Support Association. A certificate of appreciation. Well, I have countless things like this. So, is this proof of how many prisons I visited across the country? To deliver scriptures and Bibles. You can’t take those books without a car. I loaded them onto a car, went to distribute them, and didn’t receive a single 10-won coin. I spent gas money to distribute the books, and by the time I came back, tens of millions of won had vanished. I went around doing that when I was in my 30s. Looking at this postcard, if you look at this person’s position, it is the President of the Graduate Student Council at Sungkyunkwan University. He sent this to me. This is a book that he gave us.
So, doing this when I was a teenager, at the age of 35? Is that even possible? Other people at my age go around buying houses. They go around buying houses. As for me, let alone buying a house, I sold my property and went around distributing scriptures. Distributing Bibles and scriptures. That is why I know thousands of pastors. I know thousands of monks. Our Venerable Hwang Jin-gyeong was the President of the Jogye Order, and this Venerable Song Wol-ju was the President, and Venerable Kang Seok-ju was the President, so Venerable Oh Nok-won was the Head Venerable, and over there, Venerable Beopjang was the President. This is Venerable Oh Nok-won. This is Song Chun-hee, and this is Huh Kyung-young. Right, I’m still okay, aren’t I? Just looking at this, it was May 20, 1983. How old was I in May 1983? In my 30s, while I was going around distributing these Buddhist scriptures and buying houses, my friends… I didn’t take billions of won and distribute my own scriptures because people didn’t know; I was someone who went around saying, “Please let all the citizens read the good words of Shakyamuni and Jesus.”
But what? Accused of embezzlement? Accused of sexual harassment? I certainly won’t say a word to those who try to swindle me like this. Unless they return to the right path, I won’t just step down. Now is the time. This is the moment. These are presidents from all over the country. They’re wearing these name tags, too, aren’t they? In the very first row, the person in front of this person is Bae Jo-ung, President of the Korean Buddhist Youth Association. I served as an advisor to the Korean Buddhist Youth Association, President of the Korean Buddhist Service Association, and President of the Korean Christian Service Association. But who is the president who came after President Bae Jo-ung? The president who was in front is President Seon Jin-gyu. The person who served as President of the Korean Buddhist Youth Association before this person is President Seon Jin-gyu.
His wife called me a few days ago. She said she was giving blessings and placing a nameplate at Haneulgung. President Seon Jin-gyu is a university professor. Well, Bae Jo-ung is the same, though. Then, the next president after him is Chairman Kim… something or other, but it’s been so long that I just call him Chairman Kim. Back when he was active, I was going around distributing Christian Bibles. So, I asked these people, “Who is this person?” It is Venerable Byeon Mil-un, the Great Master. Not just a monk, but a Great Master. Byeon Mil-un is the head monk of Bongwonsa Temple in Gangnam, affiliated with the Korean Buddhist Association. Where is this? It is Bongwonsa. I’m telling you, Bongwonsa. Bongwonsa Temple of the Korean Buddhist Association. What year is this? My goodness. Back then, there were as many as 2 million members, so isn’t that amazing? So, I am someone who has simply dedicated an enormous amount of my life to this kind of service.
Next, the photo taken with four presidents. Take a look. But shouldn’t I have written down the title of my lecture before I start? At the National Cemetery, Choi Kyu-hah, Chun Doo-hwan, and Roh Tae-woo are sitting here. This person is President Choi Kyu-hah, President Chun Doo-hwan, and President Roh Tae-woo. The people sitting behind these presidents are bodyguards. Then, who is this person sitting behind them? Ah, am I right here or not? These people are all at the ministerial level or higher. The person in the back is Ahn Sang-ho. This Ahn Sang-ho, the Chief of the Presidential Secretariat. The one who was accompanying President Park. Look, everyone is here.
These are bodyguards, and this person is the Director of the National Security Agency. Who are all these people here? This is Assemblyman Park Se-jik. Who is sitting next to the President? The person next to President Chun Doo-hwan is Huh Kyung-young. But where is this person? These important people are sitting right here. Do you think just anyone can go and sit in this seat? They would be beaten to death. There are letters written on the seat. That is the kind of seat it is. And if you look here, do you know who Park Geun-hye, Park Seo-young, and Park Ji-man are? Lee Geun-gye—Lee Geun-gye’s father was President Park’s elementary school homeroom teacher. So, Mr. Lee Geun-gye served as the Prosecutor General during President Park’s term. What does being the Prosecutor General do? You have to go over there, behind, over here, over here, you can’t enter. Do you understand just how significant this position is? Lee Geun-gye is sitting right here. These are important people. Park Se-jik and people like him were all prominent figures during President Park’s era.
Then where is the divine man sitting? He is sitting right behind Choi Kyu-hah and Chun Doo-hwan. If I were to raise my hand and tap his head like this, it would just be a light tap. I mean, isn’t that a spot where I could give him a roasted chestnut? It is a dangerous seat if he has ill intentions. Is it set up that way or not? I won’t explain why I did it. The point is that people slandered me like that. Whenever I said I went to the U.S., they claimed I didn’t meet anyone. They claimed I didn’t meet Trump. They claimed I didn’t meet Bush. What is this? What kind of lies are these? These photos actually prove it. Not just anyone can sit right behind these presidents.
Do you know who this person is? Do you all know who this person is? Prime Minister Nam Deok-woo. Nam Deok-woo is the person who served as Prime Minister under President Park in the past. He is a famous figure, isn’t he? Is there anyone here who doesn’t know him? Everyone here knows him. He is not some divine being; back then, I was someone who distributed Bibles and Buddhist scriptures, performed volunteer work, and handed out umbrellas—that is the kind of person I am. I mean, looking at me. Embezzlement? I will definitely expose any public official who accuses a three-time presidential candidate of embezzlement. I earned the money, and I am the sole shareholder in the corporation. I legally borrowed it from the corporation and used it for my election campaign. The National Election Commission approved it. There is nothing wrong with that. Was I reported to the authorities for that? No. But the police are accusing me of violating election laws—or rather, the Political Funds Act?
The National Election Commission would have rejected that immediately if it were just a little longer. However, there is a record in the bank account showing that over 3 billion won in interest was paid while borrowing. Yet, they claimed that the money was simply taken and used without paying any interest or ever borrowed. They did this without even looking at the evidence I presented. Honestly, I haven’t even been investigated yet. And yet they want me arrested? Should the police just submit it? If you ask if it is preposterous, it is simply because they are fabricating this—a tiny 1-meter-long safe disguised as a Bank of Korea safe. Even though Huh Kyung-young’s safe is this big, how can the money be like this? What is this? You understand what I mean.
There are people who are determined to frame me and rack up a case to climb the ladder of success. Those people don’t know this. If you truly have hope of going to heaven, you shouldn’t lie. Oh, but what is the use of success in this world? You have to live the right way. If I were that greedy for money, would I, a 20-year-old, be buying umbrellas and doing umbrella volunteer work? Did I volunteer umbrellas? I’ve been providing free meals since I was 22, and I’m still doing it now. That’s 200 million won a month. 2.4 billion won a year. Is that a small amount of money? It’s money earned by chattering away like a cicada. What other person earns money like that with their mouth and pays about 10 billion won in taxes a year? Paying 10 billion won in taxes isn’t easy, is it? If you count 10 billion won in taxes as 365 days a year, do you know how much that is per day? I am paying that much in taxes. And you try to frame someone like that? It will all be revealed someday, absolutely.
So, because we had the hope of heaven, we sought out hardship. We sought out patience. Suffering is natural. Suffering is joy. That is why you must always keep a bright expression. Oh, remember how I starved myself in middle and high school, and practically ate what I was starving in high school? It is a relief that I am still alive today. I was just skin and bones. But because my will is strong, I am a true honeysuckle. I study inside a tent in minus 30 degrees. My stomach rumbles. The water freezes, so it is undrinkable. Is there water on a mountaintop in winter? It freezes, so I sit there studying without drinking a single drop. Then the next day, I trip and collapse on my way to school from anemia. That was my youth, my early years. Yet, whenever I saw money, I would think, “This isn’t mine. I have to give it all away.” That is how I volunteered.
You shouldn’t get so worked up and act like this just because you’ve suffered so much. You, woman. A man who was beaten a lot by his husband chooses a man who beats him a lot, and a woman who was beaten a lot by her father chooses a man who beats her a lot. Unconsciously. She thought he was a man who would never hit her, but he turned out to be even worse than her father. That, that is the law of nature. Strange. And so she gets beaten up again. And if she thinks the man isn’t hitting her much, she should just die preemptively—just die right in front of her. So what kind of fate is this? What kind of law is that? It’s not the law of karma. It’s
Murphy’s Law. If you run away, an even worse guy appears. I’m telling you, that’s life.
So, you shouldn’t think that you are avoiding it. Got it? Just because your father committed violence, you might think you should only choose people who aren’t violent. But then you end up picking someone who is. You’re going to get beaten up. What you try to avoid is supposed to come to you. But you didn’t even try to avoid it, yet good people just keep appearing one after another. It all goes smoothly, doesn’t it? Then, you guys would be speechless because you find yourself ridiculous.
For what reason do the ten thousand laws of humanity exist?
All dharmas are used for good(萬法善用), used for evil(惡用)
All our laws are intended to fulfill good intentions. All laws are meant for good use. However, those who enforce these laws are constantly thinking about how to oppress the people. They are not using laws for good; they are abusing them. If they receive state funds while abusing the law to frame innocent people, will that lead to a good outcome? Do they not understand the principle that justice will prevail? Do you understand what I mean? Those who abuse the law will inevitably pay a price. Using laws for good—this is love. If we use all the laws of this world for good, good results will surely follow. But is it acceptable for the people currently managing and investigating “divine beings,” or for these police officials in our country, to abuse the law? It is not, is it? Famous celebrities are eventually acquitted, but the trial, arrest, and news coverage result in financial losses. Consequently, claims amounting to hundreds of billions of won are filed against them.
I mean, even if a celebrity hasn’t done anything wrong, if a woman accuses him of sexual harassment and it just pops up in the news. Then, regardless of whether it actually happened or not, they are ruined. That is why there are gangs in Gangnam that go around suing only the newly famous. As soon as they think someone has made it big or has some money in their pockets, they have a woman file a lawsuit. If they file a lawsuit and it gets reported in the news, all their contracts are scrapped. Whether it is right or wrong, if the trial takes years, that person ends up penniless and dead. To avoid getting entangled in that, they agree to a settlement. Then, they ask, “How much would that cost?” “Ah, if you give me a few hundred million won, I won’t do it.” So, they pay a few hundred million won and settle. There are people who are only after this.
Why? Once they appear on the news, they’re ruined. No matter how famous a talent is, that day is their last. They ask to have everything sent back. “The movie footage can’t be aired.” “Whatever, it can’t be aired.” “I don’t have any issues like that, so it’s no use.”
We ended up with just that news. So, Lee Sun-kyun committed suicide. He didn’t do drugs.
But why did he take his own life? Because the police couldn’t find any underarm or head hair, and since they didn’t have that, they kept investigating his groin hair—every single hair imaginable. They struggled desperately to frame him as a criminal until the very end, and in the process, he ended up ruined. We must prevent this kind of thing. Even if I go to prison or end up in the middle of nowhere, I must speak the truth.
I have absolutely no reason to bow down to the unjust. I have never spoken ill of my opponents while running for president. However, is it acceptable for a public official to commit such an unjust act by switching a small safe into a Bank of Korea vault this time? You have to lie to some extent. You ran for president with money borrowed legally, paying 3 billion won in interest. That is my money. Is this the same as a Bank of Korea vault? Our police took pictures of this. But what is this?
This is the Bank of Korea vault. Since it is difficult to describe in words how the cash is stored, I have attached a photo found online that most closely resembles a stack of cash. So, what does the judge above think? “They’ve occupied the ‘Heavenly Palace’ with stacks of money.” This is the photo that makes me out to be a thief. Oh, I cut out all the people, didn’t I? Is this a reasonable case? It is an act of heinous reproach. A 10 trillion won underground vault? You photographed an underground vault worth 10 trillion won? If you use 50,000 won bills, the volume is 30 billion won. What is currently here is 30 billion won, but is 30 billion won the same as 100 million won? There is about 100 million won in a plastic bag. Then is it the same as that? Wow, they inflated it by 300 times. I am saying the police did something like this. Is this even possible?

Then, would that reach here via cell phone radio waves? How would I carry it? Would I carry it with light? So, do I possess radio waves here? No. I am a perfectly normal person. If a perfectly normal person decides to do something or takes action, all your code levels will increase, decrease, disappear, or something like that. There is no decrease.
