2026.07.25 1554 Spiritual Value’s Flower: True Person (True Man) and Toil! Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened

2026.07.25 1554 The Spiritual Blossom: True Beings and Diligence

1554th The Flower of Spiritual Value: True Man and Toil, Graduating from Toil with God-man’s Guidance

  1. Scriptural / Religious Citations

Revelation 12:1-6
A great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve stars on her head. She was pregnant and cried out in pain as she was about to give birth. Then another sign appeared in heaven: an enormous red dragon with seven heads and ten horns and seven crowns on its heads. Its tail swept a third of the stars out of the sky and flung them to the earth. The dragon stood in front of the woman who was about to give birth so that it might devour her child the moment he was born. She gave birth to a son, a male child, who “will rule all the nations with an iron scepter.” And her child was snatched up to God and to his throne. The woman fled into the wilderness to a place prepared for her by God, where she might be taken care of for 1,260 days.

2 Timothy 4:6-8
For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time for my departure is near. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.

(Revelation 12:1-6)

  1. Conclusion & Strategic / Philosophical Implications
The lecture concludes by reiterating that attendees are now True Man(眞人), having graduated from earthly “toil” and are on a path to the White Heaven. The final message is to live joyfully, continuously monitor one’s spiritual “dashboard,” and avoid unnecessary conflict, especially within families. The philosophical implication is a shift towards personal responsibility for spiritual growth, emphasizing self-reflection, harmonious relationships, and active participation in the God-man‘s teachings. It suggests that true spiritual progress is not about passive reception but active, conscious effort in daily life, leading to a state of liberation from worldly burdens and a direct connection to the divine.

  2. Cross-Referencing

Executive Insight
This lecture by Hug Kyung-young, delivered to an audience now designated as True Man(眞人), presents a compelling framework for spiritual liberation and personal responsibility. The core message, encapsulated by the “spiritual dashboard” metaphor, urges constant self-monitoring and ethical conduct as the path to transcending earthly “toil.” A key takeaway is the emphasis on earned spiritual rewards over unmerited gifts, challenging conventional religious notions of grace. Furthermore, the lecture redefines spiritual leadership, asserting God-man‘s direct “sermon” as the ultimate authority, signaling a new epoch. Professionals can glean insights into the power of metaphor for complex ideas, the importance of self-reflection for mental well-being, and the strategic framing of a spiritual movement around a charismatic leader and a clear path to salvation.

1. The Spiritual Pinnacle: The Attainment of True Man

This occasion marks the emergence of over 1,200 True Man (神人), the highest spiritual stage, as determined by the celestial measurements of White Heaven. We are called to embody humility, dedication, and adherence to order, thereby becoming exemplary disciples of God-man (神人). Today, we shall attentively listen to the profound teachings of the great Hug Kyung-young God-man (神人).

You have all become True Man (神人). I will elaborate on this today. The True Man (神人) represents the pinnacle of spiritual value. This status was determined by celestial measurement and evaluation. When we consider a car, it has a dashboard with gauges for speed, temperature, and fuel. Drivers must periodically check these gauges. Neglecting them, even with extensive driving experience, can lead to severe consequences, such as running out of fuel on a highway or engine failure due to overheating.

Similarly, our lives are subject to celestial measurement and evaluation, which determines our ascent to the heavens. This celestial dashboard, unlike a car’s, is invisible to human eyes, making it easy to deceive oneself. However, it continuously monitors our spiritual state.

When I was in the military, I endured physical abuse for refusing alcohol and cigarettes. Despite the harshness, I never succumbed to these vices. This demonstrates the presence of an internal gauge. To yield to such temptations is to remain an ordinary person, destined for a lower existence, akin to an animal. We are meant to evolve and ascend.

Consider the salmon, a large fish that swims upstream, defying the current, even leaping waterfalls. It embodies the spirit of “there is no place we cannot go.” Salmon travel thousands of miles across the Pacific Ocean to return to the very stream where they were born, guided by an innate navigation system far more precise than any human-made device. This arduous journey, filled with immense effort and hardship, is their “toil” (sugo). They return to their birthplace to spawn and then die, fulfilling their life’s mission. If humans were to fulfill their missions with such dedication, it would be truly remarkable.

This innate homing instinct, this profound connection to one’s origin, is something humans also possess. We, too, come from a celestial home, and we instinctively orient ourselves towards it even in sleep. Animals, being of the earthly realm, do not share this orientation. Only humans sleep facing their celestial home, which is upwards. Sleeping on one’s side can negatively affect the heart, lungs, or intestines. Therefore, sleeping on one’s back, facing upwards, is most conducive to health, as it prevents pressure on internal organs.

Furthermore, this posture encourages self-reflection. Before sleeping, one should contemplate any harsh words spoken to a spouse or staff member, resolving to apologize the next day. This process of self-purification, of mentally resolving conflicts, allows one to sleep facing the heavens. This daily introspection prevents the accumulation of negative emotions, which can otherwise lead to psychological distress such as panic disorder or depression in old age. It is far better to frequent Haneulgung and elevate one’s spiritual level than to spend one’s later years in hospitals.

  1. The Significance of the Spiritual Gauge and the Cessation of Toil
Our lives are like driving a car; we must constantly monitor our spiritual gauges. Just as a driver must check the fuel, speed, and temperature, we must regularly assess our inner state. Neglecting this can lead to spiritual “breakdowns” and endanger others, much like a car stopping on a highway. Such negligence can have catastrophic consequences, as seen in accidents caused by momentary distractions.

We, as True Man (神人), are destined for White Heaven, the celestial kingdom. Therefore, we must diligently observe our spiritual gauges. This applies not only to our inner conscience but also to our daily actions, such as driving. However, one must not stare at the gauge for too long; it should be checked during moments of pause, like at a traffic light, not while actively driving.

You, as True Man (神人), have graduated from the realm of “toil” (sugo). The phrase “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” signifies liberation from this toil. You have arrived here through your accumulated merits, not through arbitrary gifts. Divine blessings are earned through one’s own efforts and qualifications.

The spiritual hierarchy progresses from Sog-in (속인 – common person), Beom-in (범인 – ordinary person), So-in (소인 – petty person), Dae-in (대인 – great person), Hyeon-in (현인 – wise person), Cheol-in (철인 – sagely person), “man of the Way” (도인 – enlightened person), Sage (성인 – saintly person), to True Man (진인 – true person). True Man (진인) is the ninth stage, followed by God-man (神人) as the tenth. The gap between God-man (神人) and True Man (진인) is impassable. Thus, you have graduated from the human realm, specifically from the realm of “toil” (sugo).

Recently, many of you, who were previously at the Sage (성인) level, have suddenly been elevated to True Man (진인) by White Heaven. This was not my decision, nor was I informed in advance. My role involves bestowing blessings and light, but the celestial administrators of White Heaven operate independently. Even I am not exempt from hardship; I have endured far greater suffering than any of you, experiencing countless trials to understand human pain.

Those who harbor negativity, criticism, or a cynical view of the world are excluded from this elevation. They are not even at the Sage (성인) or “man of the Way” (도인) levels. Your attainment of True Man (진인) status is not a gift but a reward for your unwavering goodness, diligence, and exemplary conduct. You have earned this recognition.

In relationships, actions often speak louder than words. A gift on a birthday, for instance, holds more weight than mere verbal compliments. Similarly, in the celestial realm, blessings are not freely given but are earned through one’s efforts. You ascend the ladder and pluck the fruits of success through your own endeavors. I do not go around distributing blessings; you seek them out and claim them.

  1. The Dynamics of Relationships and the Path to Spiritual Growth
In ancient times, I engaged in the longest one-on-one conversation recorded in the scriptures with the Samaritan woman at the well. This was not an attempt to seduce her but to offer the water of life to the thirsty.

To become a “king,” one must treat one’s spouse like a queen. If a husband treats his wife as a servant, he becomes a mere servant himself. The easiest way to become a king is to elevate your partner. Similarly, if you treat others with respect, they will treat you like royalty. This profound philosophy suggests that your current state reflects how you treated others in your past lives. Your presence here at Haneulgung, despite life’s difficulties, is a testament to the merits you accumulated in previous existences.

The Bible describes various factions within early churches, such as the Pauline and Apollos factions in Corinth, or the Hellenist and Hebraist factions in Jerusalem. These divisions arose from differing interpretations and personal assertions.

In a marriage, spouses often represent opposing forces, like the accelerator and the brake in a car. If both spouses always agree, the household may face ruin. Disagreement and differing perspectives are essential for balance and stability. For instance, if a husband is inclined to invest in stocks, the wife might act as a brake, preventing impulsive decisions. This inherent opposition is designed to ensure the survival of the family. Therefore, one must accept and respect these differences rather than viewing them as obstacles.

Our ancestors spoke of “Cheonbong Manhak” (千峰萬壑), meaning “a thousand peaks and ten thousand valleys.” This signifies that for every thousand families, there are ten thousand challenges and difficulties. Just as a single mountain can have countless valleys, so too can a family experience myriad trials. You, as graduates of this earthly realm, should now view such domestic squabbles as trivial.

You have received your celestial appointment from White Heaven. This means you have already graduated from the stages of Sog-in (속인), Beom-in (범인), So-in (소인), Dae-in (대인), Hyeon-in (현인), Cheol-in (철인), “man of the Way” (도인), and Sage (성인). You are already True Man (진인). Therefore, you should not act as if you are “not yet” there. We should live joyfully until we reach the celestial kingdom.

  1. The Nature of Divine Discourse and Human Faith
God-man (神人)’s discourse is known as “sermon” (seolgyo). This is a direct address from God-man (神人) to humanity. It is not to be altered or reinterpreted by humans, as is often done by religious leaders who act as mere proxies. Their role is to faithfully convey the original message, not to introduce their own opinions or create factions. The era of such proxy interpretations has passed; God-man (神인) has arrived to deliver the message directly.

Humanity’s aspiration towards God-man (神人) is called “faith” (sinang). It is not merely “prayer” (gido), which can be ineffective if it is merely verbal. True faith is expressed through action and dedication. Faith originates from listening to the sermon. Following faith, there must be dedication and obedience. Many people currently reverse this order. I am gradually guiding you through this proper sequence.

The Apostle Paul, in 2 Timothy 4:6-8, spoke of his impending departure and the “crown of righteousness” awaiting him. This crown is also prepared for all who eagerly await the appearance of the Lord. The color and brilliance of these crowns vary according to one’s spiritual level, reflecting the good deeds performed on Earth. These crowns radiate light, earning the respect of celestial beings.

Many prominent figures from 2,000 years ago, including David, Abraham, Confucius, Mencius, Stalin, and Hitler, are present here today. They are all here because they sacrificed for me in their past lives. You, too, have endured much to remain on Earth until my arrival. This gathering marks the culmination of their journey to the celestial kingdom.

In ancient Israel, the Levite tribe, unlike the other eleven tribes, received no land. They were tasked with managing religious rituals and subsisting on the offerings. Many who suffered in this role are now present here.

Therefore, humanity’s aspiration towards God-man (神人) is “faith” (sinang), a hopeful expectation rooted in belief. God-man (神人)’s address to humanity is a “sermon” (seolgyo), a teaching. Humans should not distort this divine message. My sermons, available on YouTube, are meant to guide millions to the celestial realm.

Faith arises from listening to the sermon. This leads to dedication and obedience. You are currently reversing this process, but I am gradually re-educating you.

Life’s journey is likened to a thousand peaks and ten thousand valleys, representing the myriad experiences and challenges of existence. These “valleys” of suffering arise from our sensory perceptions and desires. When we die, these boundaries dissolve, and celestial beings guide us to the White Heaven. I, as God-man (神人), teach these profound truths in a simple manner. Those who recognize God-man (神人) and come to me will ascend to the celestial kingdom.

  1. The Miraculous Journey and the Power of Compassion
The Haneulgung community provides free meals to the elderly at Tapgol Park in Seoul and at the Busan Spiritual Center. This initiative, which includes free lunchboxes and rice cakes, has been ongoing for five years, demonstrating God-man (神人)’s compassionate spirit. The volunteers, including singers and dancers, perform for the recipients, bringing joy and comfort. This unique approach, combining free meals with artistic performances, is unprecedented in Korea and deeply moves those who receive the aid.

The songs performed by the Haneulgung artists, such as “The Eternal Miracle” and “I Love Hug Kyung-young God-man (神人),” convey messages of hope, spiritual awakening, and dedication to God-man (神人). These performances, often accompanied by dancing, are a testament to the volunteers’ commitment and the transformative power of God-man (神人)’s teachings. The pure and angelic voices of the singers, untainted by worldly struggles, resonate deeply with listeners.

One new song, based on Revelation 12:1-6, describes a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve stars on her head, giving birth to a son who will rule all nations. This is interpreted as a prophecy related to God-man (神人)’s birth and journey.

The concept of “measurement and evaluation” is crucial. It is a precise and objective assessment, devoid of favoritism. Your attainment of True Man (진인) status is a source of great pride. Many have become True Man (진인), a testament to their spiritual progress.

The Haneulgung community, through its various activities, including free meal services and musical performances, embodies the principles of compassion, service, and spiritual growth. These efforts are designed to spread God-man (神人)’s message and guide humanity towards a higher consciousness and the celestial kingdom.

What is the ‘flower of spiritual value’? It is True Man, a state of being free from unnecessary toil, achieved by those who have lived righteously.

  1. Opening Remarks and Recognition of ‘True Man’
He welcomed attendees and viewers, announcing that over 1,200 individuals have achieved the highest spiritual level, True Man, according to measurements from White Heaven.

  2. He expressed gratitude to the audience and viewers, wishing them joy through the grace of the God-man (Divine Being).

  3. It was announced that over 1,200 people have reached the True Man stage, the highest spiritual level, as measured by White Heaven.

  4. He emphasized the importance of humility, dedication, and order for God-man‘s disciples.

  5. The audience was invited to listen to the God-man‘s teachings.

  6. The Spiritual Value of ‘True Man’ and Freedom from Toil
He introduced the concept of True Man as the “flower of spiritual value,” explaining that achieving this state means being liberated from unnecessary toil and suffering, akin to graduating from a difficult journey.

2.1. Understanding ‘True Man’ and the Heavenly Gauge
The God-man explained that True Man is the highest spiritual achievement, measured by White Heaven using an invisible “heavenly gauge” that reflects one’s life journey and actions.

  1. He began the main lecture, asking for applause.

  2. He mentioned that many people call him “free” (공짜).

  3. He challenged the audience to recite Revelation 12:1-6, promising a high “level” (spiritual rank) to those who could.

  4. Even those who tried their best but couldn’t recite it perfectly would receive points, unlike in the secular world.

  5. He then declared that everyone who tried, including those overseas, would receive “level 1,000” because they are True Man.

  6. The audience was compared to people who came to eat “spiritual food” with empty “cans” (their spiritual selves) that the God-man would fill.

  7. He stated that the “flower of spiritual value” is True Man.

  8. White Heaven measures people’s spiritual progress using a “gauge” (측량).

  9. This gauge is like a car’s dashboard, showing speed, temperature, and fuel, which drivers must check to avoid accidents.

  10. Similarly, human lives are measured by a heavenly gauge, which is invisible to humans, making it easy to deceive oneself.

  11. The Journey of Life: Overcoming Toil and Seeking One’s True Home
The God-man used the metaphor of salmon swimming upstream to illustrate the arduous journey of life and the importance of self-reflection and seeking one’s spiritual home, emphasizing that True Man are those who have overcome this toil.

3.1. Lessons from Salmon and the Heavenly Gauge
The God-man used the example of salmon’s arduous journey to return to their birthplace to highlight the concept of “toil” (sugo) and the importance of following one’s inner “gauge” or instinct.

  1. He recounted his military experience, where he was beaten for not drinking alcohol or smoking, but he maintained his principles, which he likened to checking his “gauge”.
  2. failing to check this gauge leads to a “normal” life, which ultimately leads to hell or returning to an animal state, whereas humans should evolve upwards.
  3. Large fish, like salmon, swim upstream against the current, even up waterfalls, to return to their birthplace, demonstrating immense effort and determination.
  4. Salmon travel from the Pacific Ocean back to the specific stream where they were born, guided by an innate “navigation system” more accurate than any human-made GPS.
  5. This journey represents “toil” (sugo), which is a struggle or hardship.
  6. The phrase “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened” refers to this sugo.
  7. Salmon endure this toil to lay their eggs in their birthplace, fulfilling their mission before dying, unlike humans who often act without such purpose.
  8. Despite dangers from bears and fishermen, salmon use their intelligence to navigate and survive.

3.2. Human Instinct and Daily Self-Reflection
Humans, unlike animals, possess an instinct to sleep facing their spiritual “homeland” (bonyang), which is upward, and this practice should be accompanied by daily self-reflection to maintain spiritual purity.

  1. Humans also have a “homeland instinct” (haekgi bon-neung) and sleep facing their bonyang, which is upward, unlike animals who are “hell animals”.

  2. Sleeping on one’s back, facing the sky, is the healthiest position, as it prevents pressure on organs like the heart, lungs, and intestines.

  3. This position also encourages self-reflection before sleep, prompting individuals to consider their actions and apologize for any wrongs committed during the day.

  4. This daily self-reflection and resolution prevent negative emotions from accumulating.

  5. Even if an apology isn’t verbally delivered, the intention is spiritually transmitted through “quantum superposition” (yangja jungcheop), which can change the other person’s demeanor.

  6. He warned against “extinguishing others’ lights” by hurting their pride or causing them pain.

  7. Instead, people should strive to “light others’ lamps” without diminishing their own light.

  8. Failing to reflect on one’s actions before sleep leads to accumulated guilt, which can manifest as panic disorder or depression in old age, resulting in frequent hospital visits instead of visits to Haneulgung.

  9. The ‘True Man’ as Graduates of Toil and the Nature of Divine Gifts
The God-man declared that True Man are “graduates” from the burden of toil, emphasizing that divine blessings are not arbitrary gifts but rewards earned through one’s own righteous actions and efforts.

4.1. Liberation from Toil and the Hierarchy of Spiritual Levels
Achieving True Man status signifies liberation from the burden of “toil” (sugo), marking a graduation from the lower spiritual stages of humanity.

  1. He reiterated the importance of checking one’s “gauge” (like a car’s dashboard with speed, temperature, and fuel) to avoid spiritual accidents.
  2. He used the analogy of a car running out of gas on a highway to illustrate the danger of not monitoring one’s spiritual state, which can lead to fatal consequences for oneself and others.
  3. He stated that True Man are destined for White Heaven and must therefore be mindful of their “gauge”.
  4. This “gauge” refers to both one’s conscience and practical awareness in daily life, such as driving.
  5. He clarified that True Man have “graduated” from the “toil” (sugo) and heavy burdens mentioned in the scriptures, meaning they are now free from unnecessary suffering.
  6. The God-man explained that he takes on these burdens, and people receive blessings because of their own good deeds, not as arbitrary gifts.
  7. He outlined the spiritual hierarchy: sok-in (commoner), beom-in (ordinary person), so-in (small-minded person), dae-in (great person), hyeon-in (wise person), cheol-in (sage), do-in (enlightened person), seong-in (saint), and True Man.
  8. True Man is the ninth level, just below God-man (Divine Being), indicating a complete graduation from human toil.
  9. Therefore, True Man no longer need to engage in “useless toil” (sseuldeeomneun sugo).

4.2. Divine Blessings are Earned, Not Gifts
The God-man clarified that achieving True Man status and receiving divine blessings are not random gifts but rewards for one’s righteous actions and efforts, emphasizing that the divine treats everyone equally.

  1. He revealed that he recently checked and found that many people had become seong-in (saints), but then suddenly, White Heaven elevated them to True Man without his direct intervention.

  2. while he has authority over blessings and titles, the archangels managing White Heaven prevent him from arbitrarily changing his own movements or even healing himself, ensuring he experiences human suffering.

  3. He noted that he suffered 100 times more than others in his youth, experiencing hardship to understand human suffering.

  4. He mentioned that some families had as many as 25 members become True Man, but a few individuals did not achieve this status.

  5. Those who remained outside the True Man status were often critical, judgmental, or negative towards others, indicating that their actions prevented their spiritual advancement.

  6. The God-man stressed that True Man status is not a “gift” from heaven but a “reward” for one’s good deeds, consistent effort, and righteous living.

  7. He used the analogy of winning a piano competition: success comes from hard work, not from God favoring one person over another.

  8. He criticized the “selfish egoism” of claiming God’s exclusive favor, stating that God offers equal opportunities to all, and individuals earn their blessings through their own qualifications.

  9. He humorously compared human relationships to divine blessings, noting that in romance, actions (like gifts) speak louder than words.

  10. Similarly, in the spiritual realm, individuals must “climb a ladder” and “pick the fruits” of success through their own efforts, as blessings are not handed out freely.

  11. a parent with ten children would not give gifts to some and not others; similarly, the divine treats all equally.

  12. Wisdom for Life: Marriage, Conflict, and the Path to Spiritual Growth
The God-man offered practical wisdom on various aspects of life, including marriage, conflict resolution, and spiritual understanding, using analogies and scriptural references to guide individuals toward a more harmonious and enlightened existence.

5.1. Marriage as a Balance of Opposites and the Wisdom of ‘Cheonbong Manhak’
The God-man explained that marriage thrives on the balance of opposing viewpoints, likening spouses to a car’s accelerator and brake, and introduced the concept of “thousand peaks, ten thousand valleys” (cheonbong manhak) to describe the myriad challenges in life.

  1. He encouraged questions to raise the audience’s “level”.
  2. He asked about his longest one-on-one conversation in the Bible, revealing it was with the Samaritan woman at the well, which was his first evangelism to a woman.
  3. He then posed a riddle: “How does one become a king?”.
  4. The answer is to treat one’s wife like a queen, which automatically makes the husband a king; conversely, treating her like a maid makes him a servant.
  5. He extended this to all relationships: respecting others makes one a “king”.
  6. He suggested that the audience’s current meeting with him is a result of their past lives, where they treated their spouses like royalty.
  7. He noted that people often come to him when facing difficulties, implying that these challenges are part of their journey to meet him.
  8. He asked about churches divided by factions (e.g., Paul vs. Apollos), mentioning the Corinthian and Antioch churches, and the Hellenists vs. Hebrews in the Jerusalem church.
  9. He then likened spouses to a car’s “brake” and “accelerator,” emphasizing that opposing views are essential for a household’s stability.
  10. If both spouses agree too much, the household can fail; therefore, differences in opinion are necessary for balance.
  11. He advised wives to act as the “brake” when their husbands are doing well, for example, by encouraging them to invest in insurance rather than spending excessively.
  12. He introduced the concept of “thousand peaks, ten thousand valleys” (cheonbong manhak), meaning that for every thousand families, there are ten thousand problems or “valleys” (difficulties).
  13. this phrase describes the countless challenges and complexities in life, even within a single mountain range.
  14. He urged the audience, as “graduates” (True Man), to rise above trivial domestic disputes.
  15. the term “already” (imi) signifies that the audience has already graduated to True Man status, meaning their heavenly issues are resolved.
  16. Therefore, they should not act as if they are “not yet” (ajik) True Man.

5.2. The True Meaning of Preaching, Faith, and Divine Justice
The God-man defined “preaching” as direct divine communication to humans, contrasting it with human interpretations that lead to factions, and explained that “faith” is human aspiration towards the divine, which should be expressed through action, not just words.

  1. The God-man defined “preaching” (seolgyo) as direct communication from the Creator to humans, not interpretations by religious leaders.

  2. He criticized religious leaders who alter or add their own opinions to scriptures, creating numerous factions.

  3. He stated that his arrival signifies the end of the era of “proxy preaching” (dae-eon).

  4. He compared himself to the ocean, which absorbs all pollution from rivers but remains unchanged, implying his tolerance for human misinterpretations.

  5. However, he is now present as the direct “preacher” and will judge those who distorted his words.

  6. many religious leaders from various traditions are now coming to him, recognizing him as the divine being.

  7. He defined “faith” (shinang) as humans’ aspiration towards the divine, not merely “prayer” (gido), which can be ineffective if not backed by action.

  8. He quoted 2 Timothy 4:6-8, where Paul speaks of fighting the good fight, finishing the race, and keeping the faith, for which a “crown of righteousness” awaits.

  9. He stated that the audience, as True Man, are also destined for these crowns, which vary in color and brilliance according to their spiritual level.

  10. He mentioned that many historical figures, including David, Abraham, Zhuge Liang, Confucius, Mencius, Stalin, Hitler, Sakyamuni, and Gang Jeung-san, are present in the audience, having been reincarnated to meet him.

  11. He also noted the presence of many from the Levite tribe, who suffered in ancient Israel due to not receiving land.

  12. He reiterated that “faith” (shinang) is human aspiration towards the divine, while “preaching” (seolgyo) is divine instruction to humans.

  13. He stressed that humans should not alter divine words but listen to his lectures on YouTube.

  14. “faith” comes from hearing his “preaching,” which then leads to “dedication” (heonshin) and “obedience” (sunjong).

  15. He concluded by explaining that the “six senses” (yukgyeong) pursuing worldly pleasures lead to the “ten thousand valleys” (cheonbong manhak) of suffering.

  16. Death, however, separates these senses from the world, eliminating suffering, and angels from White Heaven then guide the soul.

  17. Free Meals, Promotional Songs, and the Eternal Miracle
The event concluded with videos showcasing Haneulgung’s free meal service, followed by performances of promotional songs by various singers, emphasizing the eternal miracle of Haneulgung and the God-man’s mission.

  1. He expressed gratitude for the profound lecture.
  2. A video of Haneulgung’s free meal service at Tapgol Park in Seoul was shown, highlighting 5 years of daily service to the elderly.
  3. Another video featured the free meal service at the Busan Spiritual Center, accompanied by a song about the “heavenly kimbap”.
  4. The song described the God-man’s difficult past, selling blood to study, and his compassion for the war generation, emphasizing that the food is “heavenly rice” and “angel’s heart”.
  5. He praised the volunteers, especially Kang Da-gyo, for their dedication.
  6. Promotional songs for Haneulgung were performed.
  7. Kim Ji-hyun and her dancing team performed a song about the “eternal miracle” of Haneulgung, where everything from nature to human life is a miracle, but these worldly miracles eventually disappear.
  8. The song concluded that finding Haneulgung and receiving blessings and levels from the God-man is the “eternal miracle” leading to the White Heaven.
  9. He praised the performance, noting its visual impact and the pure voice of Kim Ji-hyun, which he described as an “angel’s voice”.
  10. Kang Ok-gi performed a new song based on Revelation 12:1-6, describing a woman clothed with the sun, a great red dragon, and the woman fleeing into the wilderness.
  11. The song’s interpretation connected this to the God-man‘s journey from Seoul to Jinju during the Korean War, where he was raised for 1,260 days.
  12. Park Hyun-soo performed an English version of “Nangjung Jiyeong” (A Genius in the Pocket).
  13. Lee Dong-seop performed “I Love Hug Kyung-young God-man,” a song about the God-man‘s humble life and dedication to the people, wishing for a world without war and hunger.

6.2. Final Blessings and Gratitude
The God-man concluded the event by bestowing blessings upon all attendees, performers, and viewers, including their families and ancestors, for their participation and support.

  1. The God-man bestowed “levels” (spiritual ranks) upon all performers.
  2. He then commanded, in his name, that all members of the Haneulgung promotional team, attendees, those who paid for lectures but couldn’t attend, and their families and ancestors receive “level 3,000”.
  3. He further commanded that those who watched the performances on YouTube, along with their families and ancestors, receive “level 500 billion”.
  4. He thanked everyone for their attendance and support, wishing them happiness and love under divine grace.

What is the core message of this lecture? true spiritual value comes from becoming a “True Man” (a person of truth), which means graduating from unnecessary toil and living a life of purpose, much like a salmon’s arduous journey to its birthplace. This lecture emphasizes that true spiritual value comes from becoming a “True Man” (a person of truth), which means graduating from unnecessary toil and living a life of purpose, much like a salmon’s arduous journey to its birthplace.

The Path to Becoming a True Man

  • True Man represents the highest spiritual stage, with over 1,200 individuals recently achieving this status through a celestial assessment.
  • Becoming a True Man means graduating from toil and unnecessary burdens, signifying a release from the struggles of ordinary life.
    • He refers to a biblical passage, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest,” implying that True Man are those who have shed these burdens.
  • This achievement is not a gift but a reward for one’s efforts and good deeds.
    • Just as a musician wins a competition through hard work, spiritual progress is earned, not given.
    • God provides equal opportunities, and individuals earn their blessings through their actions.
  • The spiritual hierarchy progresses from ordinary people to True Man, with True Man being the ninth stage, just below God-man (divine being).
    • The stages are: Soin (small person), Bomin (ordinary person), Soin (petty person), Daein (great person), Hyunin (wise person), Cheolin (sage), Doin (enlightened person), Seongin (saint), and finally, True Man.
    • He notes that many attendees were previously at the Seongin level but have recently been elevated to True Man by the celestial realm.
  • Those who are critical, judgmental, or negative towards others are unlikely to achieve the True Man status.

The Importance of the Spiritual “Dashboard”

  • Just as a car has a dashboard to monitor its condition (speed, temperature, fuel), humans have a spiritual “dashboard” that is constantly being measured by heaven.
    • Ignoring a car’s dashboard can lead to breakdowns and accidents, symbolizing how neglecting one’s spiritual state can lead to disaster.
    • Unlike a car’s dashboard, the spiritual dashboard is invisible, making it easy to deceive oneself.
  • He shares a personal anecdote about enduring hardship in the military without succumbing to negative influences like alcohol or cigarettes, highlighting the importance of maintaining one’s spiritual “dashboard.”
    • Failing to maintain this spiritual integrity leads to a descent towards a “hellish” or “animalistic” state.

Lessons from the Salmon’s Journey: Purposeful Toil

  • Like a salmon that swims upstream against the current to return to its birthplace, humans should strive to ascend spiritually.
    • Salmon undertake an arduous journey, overcoming waterfalls and predators, driven by an innate navigation system more accurate than any human technology.
    • This journey, filled with immense toil and suffering, culminates in the salmon laying its eggs in its birthplace and then dying, fulfilling its life’s mission.
  • Humans, too, originate from a spiritual “homeland” and should strive to return to it.
    • Unlike animals, humans are uniquely capable of sleeping facing their spiritual homeland (upwards), which is beneficial for health and spiritual reflection.
    • Sleeping in other positions can negatively impact internal organs.

Daily Reflection and Spiritual Cleansing

  • Before sleeping, individuals should reflect on their actions and apologize for any wrongs committed, even if only in their thoughts.
    • This act of internal apology, or “quantum superposition,” can subtly influence the other person, even without direct communication.
    • Direct apologies, however, can further brighten the other person’s demeanor.
  • It is crucial not to “extinguish others’ lights” by hurting their pride or causing them pain.
    • Instead, one should strive to “light others’ lamps,” as this does not diminish one’s own light.
  • Failing to engage in daily self-reflection and emotional cleansing can lead to accumulated guilt, resulting in mental health issues like panic attacks and depression in old age.
    • It is better to frequent the spiritual center (“Haneulgung”) than to spend one’s later years in hospitals.

The Dynamics of Relationships: Husband and Wife as Brake and Accelerator

  • In a marriage, a husband and wife often represent opposing forces, like the accelerator and brake in a car.
    • This opposition is not a flaw but a necessary balance for the household’s stability and success.
    • If both partners always agree, the household can face ruin, like a car with only an accelerator.
  • The wife often acts as the “brake,” providing caution and foresight, especially when the husband is overly ambitious or takes risks.
    • For example, if a husband’s business is thriving, a wife might encourage him to save or invest in insurance to prepare for potential downturns.
  • Understanding and accepting these differences are crucial for a harmonious marriage.
    • He suggests that couples who are too compatible might end up in divorce because they lack the necessary opposing forces to navigate life’s challenges.
  • Historically, successful families often had husbands focused on external affairs and wives managing the household, creating a complementary dynamic.
  • The concept of “Cheonbong Manhak” (천봉만학), meaning “a thousand peaks and ten thousand valleys,” illustrates the myriad challenges and events that arise in human relationships, particularly in marriage.
    • Just as a single mountain can have countless valleys, a thousand families can experience ten thousand different problems.
    • Recognizing this complexity helps individuals avoid petty arguments and embrace a broader perspective.

The Nature of Divine Communication: Preaching vs. Faith

  • Preaching (Seolgyo) is defined as direct communication from the Creator to humans.
    • Human religious leaders who interpret or alter divine texts are merely “deputy speakers” (Daedok), and their interpretations should not deviate from the original message.
    • He criticizes the creation of numerous religious factions based on human interpretations of divine words.
  • Faith (Shinang) is the human response to divine communication, characterized by hope and belief.
    • True faith is not merely verbal prayer but involves concrete actions and dedication (Huhnshin).
    • He references Paul’s letter to Timothy, highlighting the concept of a “crown of righteousness” awaiting those who fight the good fight and keep the faith.
    • This “crown of righteousness” is not exclusive to Paul but is prepared for all who eagerly await the divine’s appearance, with different colors and brilliance reflecting individual spiritual levels.
  • many historical figures, including David, Abraham, Zhuge Liang, Confucius, Mencius, Stalin, Hitler, Sakyamuni, and Kang Jeungsan, are present in the audience, having been reincarnated to witness this era.
    • These individuals, who made sacrifices in previous lives, are now completing their spiritual journey to heaven.
    • He also mentions the Levite tribe from ancient Israel, who were not given land but served in religious duties, and many of whom are now present.

The Illusion of the Material World

  • Life’s journey is likened to “a thousand peaks and ten thousand valleys,” representing the countless joys and sorrows experienced through the six senses (Yukgyeong).
    • These sensory experiences, when pursued excessively, create a world of suffering and complexity.
  • Death, however, dissolves these sensory boundaries, eliminating the “peaks and valleys” and leading the soul to the celestial realm.

Community Engagement and Performances

  • The lecture includes videos showcasing the “Haneulgung” free meal service, which provides lunchboxes and rice cakes to seniors in Seoul and Busan.
    • The service is praised for its compassionate spirit, especially considering His own difficult upbringing.

    • The Concept of “True Person” (True Man)
    • God-man Hur Kyung-young explained that “True Person” is the flower of spiritual value, measured and evaluated by White Heaven.
    • This measurement is akin to a car’s dashboard, which drivers must constantly monitor for speed, temperature, and fuel levels to avoid accidents.
    • The “Heavenly Dashboard” is invisible to human eyes, making it easy to deceive, but it constantly monitors one’s spiritual state.
    • God-man Hur Kyung-young shared his personal experience in the military, where he endured hardship for not drinking or smoking, emphasizing the importance of not succumbing to worldly temptations.
    • He likened spiritual progress to salmon swimming upstream, overcoming obstacles to return to their origin, highlighting the concept of “toil” (sugo).
    • Humans, unlike animals, can sleep facing their “true home” (bonyang), which is upwards, promoting health and self-reflection.
    • He stressed the importance of daily self-reflection before sleep, resolving conflicts and apologizing, even if only in thought, as this purifies the mind and affects others through “quantum superposition.”
    • He warned against extinguishing others’ “candles” (spirits) through criticism or causing emotional pain, encouraging instead to light others’ candles without diminishing one’s own.
    • The “True Person” is a graduate of “toil,” meaning they are liberated from unnecessary suffering and can enjoy life until reaching heaven.
    • The spiritual hierarchy was outlined: 속인 (commoner), 범인 (ordinary person), 소인 (small-minded person), 대인 (great person), 현인 (wise person), 철인 (philosopher), 도인 (Taoist master), 성인 (saint), 진인 (true person), and God-man (divine person). True Persons are the ninth stage, just below God-man, signifying graduation from human toil.
    • The attainment of “True Person” status is not a gift but a reward for one’s good deeds, consistency, and effort.
  • Philosophical Insights and Life Lessons

    • God-man Hur Kyung-young used analogies to explain complex concepts:
    • Marriage as a Car: A couple is like the accelerator and brake of a car (family). Opposing views are essential for balance and survival, preventing reckless decisions.
    • “Cheonbong Manhak” (천봉만학): “A thousand peaks and ten thousand valleys” signifies that a thousand families will experience ten thousand kinds of suffering. This illustrates the diverse challenges and events within human relationships.
    • understanding these dynamics helps individuals avoid trivial conflicts and embrace their role as “graduates” from toil.
  • The Nature of Preaching (설교) and Faith (신앙)

    • “Preaching” (설교) is defined as words spoken directly by the Creator to humans, which should not be altered or reinterpreted by humans.
    • “Faith” (신앙) is the human aspiration towards the divine, expressed through belief and action, not merely empty prayers.
    • He cited 2 Timothy 4:6-8, where Paul speaks of fighting the good fight, finishing the race, and keeping the faith, anticipating a “crown of righteousness.”
    • God-man Hur Kyung-young stated that these “crowns of righteousness” are prepared for all True Persons, with varying colors and brilliance according to their spiritual level.
    • He revealed that many historical figures, including David, Abraham, Zhuge Liang, Confucius, Mencius, Stalin, Hitler, Sakyamuni, and Kang Jeung-san, are present among the attendees, having been reincarnated to meet him.
    • He explained the historical context of the Levite tribe in Israel, who were not given land but served in the temple, highlighting their sacrifices.
    • He concluded by reiterating that his lectures are meant to guide people towards heaven, and that true understanding comes from listening to his direct teachings.

What is the core message of this lecture? True individuals are those who have graduated from the “toil” of life, meaning they are free from unnecessary suffering and worldly burdens.

  • True Individuals are those who have graduated from the “toil” of life, meaning they are free from unnecessary suffering and worldly burdens.
  • Spiritual Growth and Measurement
    • Spiritual growth is like driving a car; you need a dashboard to check your progress.
    • This spiritual dashboard is invisible to humans, making it easy to deceive oneself.
    • Just as a car’s engine can break down if you ignore the dashboard, ignoring your spiritual state can lead to problems like panic disorder or depression.
    • Heaven measures your spiritual progress through “measurement and evaluation”.
  • The Importance of Self-Reflection
    • Before sleeping, reflect on your actions and apologize for any wrongs, even if only in your mind.
    • This mental apology can positively affect the other person through quantum superposition, even without direct communication.
    • Do not extinguish others’ lights by hurting their pride or causing them pain. Instead, help light their way, as this does not diminish your own light.
  • Understanding “Toil”
    • “Toil” refers to intense hardship and suffering.
    • The phrase “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened” refers to those who are experiencing this “toil”.
    • Becoming a True Individual means you have graduated from this “toil” and are free from its burdens.
  • Levels of Spiritual Attainment
    • The spiritual journey involves several stages: commoner, ordinary person, petty person, great person, wise person, sage, enlightened person, saint, and finally, True Individual.
    • A True Individual is the ninth stage, just before becoming a Divine Being.
    • Many people have recently achieved the status of True Individual through Heaven’s evaluation.
  • No Gifts from Heaven
    • Heaven does not give gifts; rather, you receive what you deserve through your own efforts and good deeds.
    • This means that any blessings or achievements are a result of your own actions, not special favors.
  • The Nature of Marriage
    • A husband and wife are like the accelerator and brake of a car; they often have opposing views.
    • This opposition is necessary for a household to function well, preventing it from crashing.
    • If both partners always agree, it can lead to ruin.
    • Therefore, it’s important to accept and respect your spouse’s differing opinions.
  • Heavenly Teachings and Human Interpretation
    • Sermons are direct messages from a Divine Being to humans.
    • Humans should not alter or add their own interpretations to these divine messages.
    • Faith is what humans express towards a Divine Being, and it should be demonstrated through actions, not just words.
  • The Crown of Righteousness
    • Those who have fought the good fight, finished their race, and kept their faith will receive a crown of righteousness.
    • The color and brilliance of these crowns vary according to one’s spiritual level.
    • Many historical figures, including David, Abraham, Confucius, and even Stalin and Hitler, are present and will receive their crowns.
  • The Cycle of Suffering
    • Life is full of “a thousand peaks and ten thousand valleys,” meaning countless challenges and sufferings.
    • These “valleys” of suffering arise from the interaction of our senses with the world.
    • Death is the separation that ends this cycle of suffering.

The Pinnacle of Spiritual Value: True Human and Toil

  1. The Emergence of the True Human (眞人) and Spiritual Measurement
Hug Kyung-young commenced the discourse by announcing the birth of over 1,200 True Humans (眞人), representing the highest spiritual stage, as determined by the celestial measurement of White Heaven (백궁). He asserted that the True Human (眞人) embodies the zenith of spiritual value. This elevation was not a random occurrence but a result of a precise celestial assessment.

  2. The Celestial Gauge: Understanding Spiritual Progress
The process of becoming a True Human (眞人) involves a celestial measurement and evaluation, akin to a vehicle’s dashboard. Just as a driver must monitor the speedometer, temperature gauge, and fuel level, individuals must be aware of their spiritual status. However, unlike a car’s visible dashboard, the celestial gauge remains unseen by human eyes, making self-deception possible. This unseen measurement continuously assesses one’s spiritual journey.

  3. The Analogy of the Salmon: Striving Against the Current
Hug Kyung-young drew an analogy to the salmon, a creature that swims upstream, defying the current to return to its birthplace to spawn. This arduous journey, characterized by immense toil (수고), symbolizes the spiritual effort required to ascend. The salmon’s innate navigation system, superior to any human-made GPS, guides it back to its origin, demonstrating a profound connection to its true home. This relentless struggle against adversity, despite the dangers posed by predators and fishermen, highlights the dedication to fulfilling one’s inherent purpose.

  4. The Human’s True Home (本鄕) and the Practice of Self-Reflection
Unlike animals, which are bound to the earthly realm, humans possess the capacity to yearn for their True Home (本鄕), a celestial abode. This yearning is subtly expressed even in sleep, as humans instinctively orient themselves towards their True Home (本鄕). Hug Kyung-young emphasized the importance of sleeping in a supine position, facing upwards, as this posture promotes physical health and facilitates spiritual introspection. Before sleep, one should engage in self-reflection, acknowledging any wrongdoings and resolving to rectify them. This daily practice of self-purification prevents the accumulation of negative emotions, which can lead to psychological distress such as panic disorder and depression.

  5. The Quantum Entanglement of Conscience: Impact of Inner Reflection
Hug Kyung-young introduced the concept of quantum entanglement, explaining that sincere self-reflection and remorse, even unspoken, can transmit positive energy to others. When one genuinely reflects on having wronged someone, this inner change is subtly communicated, potentially altering the other person’s perception and fostering a brighter interaction the following day.

  6. The Metaphor of the Candle: Illuminating Others’ Paths
He likened each individual’s life force to a candle flame. To extinguish another’s candle, or to diminish their self-esteem, is a grave transgression. Instead, one should strive to ignite the candles of others. Sharing one’s light does not diminish one’s own flame; rather, it illuminates the world. This act of selfless service is the true purpose of those who gather at Haneulgung (하늘궁).

  7. Graduating from Toil (수고): The Attainment of True Human (眞人) Status
Hug Kyung-young declared that those who have attained the status of True Human (眞人) have “graduated” from toil (수고). This signifies liberation from unnecessary suffering and burdens. The phrase “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened” (수고하고 무거운 짐진 자들아 다 내게로 오라) implies that he bears these burdens, allowing the True Human (眞人) to live a life free from excessive struggle.

  8. The Hierarchy of Spiritual Attainment: From Commoner to God-man
Hug Kyung-young outlined a spiritual hierarchy, progressing from the lowest Commoner (속인) through various stages:

  • Commoner (속인)
  • Ordinary Person (범인)
  • Petty Person (소인)
  • Great Person (대인)
  • Wise Person (현인)
  • Sage (철인)
  • Taoist (도인)
  • Saint (성인)
  • True Human (眞人)
  • God-man
The True Human (眞人) occupies the ninth position, just below the God-man, marking a significant advancement beyond human limitations. This achievement is not a gift but a reward for one’s diligent efforts and righteous conduct.
  1. The Nature of Divine Gifts: Earned, Not Given
divine blessings are not arbitrary gifts but are earned through one’s actions and qualifications. He rejected the notion of favoritism, stating that the God-man offers equal opportunities to all. Success, like a fruit on a tree, must be reached and plucked through personal endeavor. This principle applies to all blessings, including the Not Old Milk and other spiritual benefits.

  2. The Wisdom of Marital Dynamics: Brake and Accelerator
Hug Kyung-young used the analogy of a car’s brake and accelerator to describe the dynamic of a healthy marriage. Just as a car needs both to function, a couple thrives when they possess complementary, often opposing, perspectives. If both partners act as accelerators, the household risks financial ruin. Conversely, if one acts as an accelerator and the other as a brake, the household maintains balance and stability. This inherent difference in temperament is not a cause for conflict but a necessary component for a harmonious and successful family life.

  3. The Principle of a Thousand Peaks and Ten Thousand Valleys
Hug Kyung-young introduced the concept of A Thousand Peaks and Ten Thousand Valleys (千峰萬壑), an ancient Korean proverb. This signifies that for every thousand families, there are ten thousand challenges or difficulties. The “peaks” represent the families, and the “valleys” symbolize the myriad problems they encounter. This illustrates the inherent complexities and struggles within human relationships and societal structures.

  4. The Stages of Spiritual Existence: Already, Now, Not Yet
Hug Kyung-young presented three stages of spiritual existence: “already” (이미), “now” (지금), and “not yet” (아직). He asserted that those who have become True Humans (眞人) have “already” graduated from the cycle of toil (수고). Therefore, they should not behave as if they are “not yet” liberated, but rather embrace their elevated status with joy and ease.

  5. The Distinction Between Sermon (설교) and Faith (신앙)
Hug Kyung-young clarified the distinction between a sermon (설교) and faith (신앙). A sermon (설교) is the direct word of the God-man to humanity, which should not be altered or reinterpreted by human intermediaries. Faith (신앙), on the other hand, is humanity’s aspiration towards the God-man, expressed not merely through prayer but through concrete actions and devotion. True faith (신앙) is born from hearing the sermon (설교) and is manifested through dedication and obedience.

  6. The Crown of Righteousness: Awaiting the True Human (眞人)
Referencing 2 Timothy 4:6-8, Hug Kyung-young spoke of the “crown of righteousness” awaiting those who have fought the good fight, finished the race, and kept the faith (신앙). He stated that True Humans (眞人) are destined to receive these crowns, each unique in color and brilliance, reflecting their level of spiritual attainment and good deeds on Earth. These luminous crowns signify the respect and admiration they will receive from celestial beings.

  7. The Convergence of Souls: Ancient Figures at Haneulgung (하늘궁)
Hug Kyung-young revealed that many historical and spiritual figures, including David, Abraham, Confucius, Mencius, Stalin, Hitler, and Shakyamuni, are present at Haneulgung (하늘궁). These individuals, who made sacrifices for him in past lives, have now gathered to complete their spiritual journey and ascend to the celestial realm. He specifically mentioned the Levite tribe from ancient Israel, who endured hardship without land, as many of them are now present, signifying the culmination of their long-awaited reward.

  8. The Illusion of the Six Senses (六境) and the Path to Liberation
Hug Kyung-young explained that the Six Senses (六境)—sight, hearing, smell, taste, touch, and mind—when entangled with worldly desires, create a world of A Thousand Peaks and Ten Thousand Valleys (千峰萬壑), filled with suffering and complexity. Death, however, severs this connection, dissolving the boundaries of the Six Senses (六境) and leading the soul to the White Heaven (백궁), where celestial beings await. This liberation from sensory attachment is the ultimate goal of spiritual enlightenment.

  • Practical Message: The collective offerings underscore the community’s deep reverence for God-man and the tangible impact of his teachings on their lives, encouraging continued devotion and spiritual growth.

The Spiritual Gauge and the Journey of Life

  • Topic: The Invisible Spiritual Gauge and Human Evolution
  • Main Assertions: Life is likened to driving a car, where a spiritual “gauge” constantly measures one’s actions and spiritual state. Unlike a car’s dashboard, this celestial gauge is invisible to human eyes, making self-deception easy. Humans are meant to evolve spiritually, moving upwards, akin to large fish swimming upstream against the current.
  • Analogies:
    • Car Dashboard: Just as a driver must monitor speed, temperature, and fuel, individuals must regularly check their spiritual gauge to avoid catastrophe. Ignoring it can lead to spiritual “engine failure” or “accidents.”
    • Invisible Celestial Gauge: The celestial gauge is invisible, making it easy to deceive oneself, but it constantly monitors one’s spiritual progress.
    • Salmon Swimming Upstream: Large fish like salmon swim against the current to return to their birthplace, symbolizing the arduous but necessary journey of spiritual evolution, resisting worldly downward pulls.
  • Practical Message: Constant self-awareness and adherence to spiritual principles are vital, as the invisible celestial gauge records all actions, guiding one’s path towards higher evolution.

The Toil of Existence and the Instinct of Return

  • Topic: Understanding Toil and the Innate Desire for the True Home
  • Main Assertions: The term “toil” (Sugoh) signifies profound hardship and suffering. While humans often wander aimlessly, animals like salmon possess an innate “return instinct” to their birthplace, enduring immense toil to fulfill their purpose. Humans also possess an instinct to return to their true home (Bonyang), which manifests in how they sleep.
  • Analogies:
    • Salmon’s Toil: Salmon endure incredible hardship, swimming thousands of miles and overcoming obstacles to return to their birthplace to spawn and die, fulfilling their life’s mission. This “toil” is a higher form of suffering than mere hardship.
    • Human Sleep Position: Humans instinctively sleep facing their true home (upwards), which is beneficial for health and spiritual reflection. Animals, being “hellish animals,” do not share this instinct.
  • Practical Message: Recognize the inherent “toil” in life and cultivate the instinct to return to one’s spiritual origin through conscious actions and self-reflection, especially before sleep.

Daily Reflection and the Quantum Effect of Conscience

  • Topic: The Practice of Daily Self-Purification
  • Main Assertions: Before sleeping, one should reflect on the day’s actions, particularly any harm caused to others, and resolve to apologize or rectify mistakes. This act of internal purification, even without direct apology, creates a “quantum superposition” effect, subtly influencing the other person and improving future interactions. Neglecting this leads to accumulated guilt, manifesting as mental health issues.
  • Examples: Reflecting on harsh words spoken to a spouse or employee and resolving to apologize the next day.
  • Concept: Quantum Superposition (양자 중첩): The idea that one’s internal resolution to apologize or forgive can subtly transmit to the other person, changing their perception even before a verbal interaction.
  • Practical Message: Engage in daily self-reflection and purification to maintain a clear conscience, prevent emotional accumulation, and positively influence relationships through spiritual means.

The Light of Others and the Path of a True Man

  • Topic: Illuminating Others and the Responsibility of a True Man
  • Main Assertions: One should never extinguish the “candlelight” (life force or spirit) of others by hurting their pride or causing them suffering. Instead, a True Man‘s role is to light the candles of others, knowing that sharing one’s light does not diminish one’s own. This is the path to heaven and the responsibility of those who have become True Man.
  • Analogy:
    • Candlelight: Each person’s life is like a candle. Extinguishing another’s candle (hurting them) is detrimental. Lighting others’ candles (helping them) does not lessen one’s own light.
  • Practical Message: Act as a beacon of light, uplifting and supporting others, rather than causing harm. This selfless act is fundamental to the spiritual journey of a True Man.

The Hierarchy of Spiritual Attainment and Liberation from Toil

  • Topic: The Stages of Spiritual Evolution and the Graduation of True Man
  • Main Assertions: There is a clear hierarchy of spiritual attainment, from the lowest “vulgar person” (Sok-in) to the highest “God-man.” True Man represents the ninth stage, just below God-man, signifying a “graduation” from the cycle of toil. This liberation means they no longer need to engage in meaningless struggles.
  • Hierarchy:
    • Sok-in (속인 – vulgar person)
    • Beom-in (범인 – ordinary person)
    • So-in (소인 – petty person)
    • Dae-in (대인 – great person)
    • Hyeon-in (현인 – wise person)
    • Cheol-in (철인 – philosopher)
    • “man of the Way” (도인 – spiritual master)
    • Sage (성인 – saint)
    • True Man (진인 – true human)
    • God-man (신인 – divine human)
  • Practical Message: Recognize one’s elevated status as a True Man and embrace the freedom from unnecessary toil, focusing on joyful existence until reaching heaven.

The Nature of Divine Blessings and Earned Rewards

  • Topic: Divine Blessings are Earned, Not Gifts
  • Main Assertions: Divine blessings are not arbitrary gifts from heaven but are earned through one’s good deeds, consistent effort, and righteous actions. Heaven provides opportunities, but individuals must actively strive to attain them. This principle applies universally, without favoritism.
  • Examples: A piano competition winner attributing success to God’s gift is seen as selfish, as all participants worked hard. True success comes from one’s own efforts.
  • Analogy: Success is like fruits hanging in heaven; one must build a ladder and pick them oneself.
  • Practical Message: Understand that all blessings are a result of one’s own actions and efforts, fostering a sense of responsibility and continuous striving rather than passive expectation.

The Complementary Roles in Marriage and Life’s Challenges

  • Topic: The Dynamic Balance of Opposites in Relationships
  • Main Assertions: Spouses, like the brake and accelerator of a car, are inherently opposite in their tendencies and perspectives. This opposition is not a flaw but a necessary design for the stability and success of a household. Men tend to prioritize “righteousness” (ui), while women focus on “profit” (i-ik), creating a natural balance. Challenges and difficulties in life, including marital discord, are often divine interventions to guide individuals towards their true path and ultimately to God-man.
  • Analogies:
    • Brake and Accelerator: A car (family) needs both to function safely. If both spouses are “accelerators,” the family might crash.
    • Men (Righteousness) vs. Women (Profit): Men might prioritize social standing or honor, while women focus on practical household management and financial stability. This creates a necessary tension and balance.
    • “Thousand Peaks, Ten Thousand Valleys” (천봉만학): This ancient saying illustrates that for every thousand families (peaks), there are ten thousand problems (valleys), signifying the inherent challenges in human relationships.
  • Practical Message: Embrace differences in relationships as essential for balance. Understand that life’s difficulties are often divinely orchestrated to lead one to a higher purpose, such as meeting God-man.

The Nature of Preaching (Seolgyo) and Faith (Shinang)

  • Topic: Distinguishing Divine Preaching from Human Interpretation
  • Main Assertions: True “preaching” (Seolgyo) is the direct word of God-man to humanity, which should not be altered or reinterpreted by humans. Human “faith” (Shinang) is the act of hoping and believing in God-man’s words, which then manifests as devotion (Huhn-sin) and obedience. Misguided prayers or interpretations lead to spiritual blockages.
  • Definitions:
    • Seolgyo (설교): The word of God-man directly to humans.
    • Shinang (신앙): Humans’ hope and belief towards God-man.
    • Huhn-sin (헌신): Devotion, the concrete action stemming from faith.
  • Biblical Reference: Paul’s words in 2 Timothy 4:6-8 are cited, emphasizing the “crown of righteousness” prepared for those who have fought the good fight and kept the faith.
  • Practical Message: Listen directly to God-man’s teachings without human distortion. Cultivate genuine faith that translates into devoted action, rather than relying on superficial prayers.

  1. Historical / Doctrinal Connections
This lecture builds upon Hug Kyung-young’s established teachings by integrating several core concepts:
  • Divine-Human Theory and Spiritual Hierarchy: The concept of True Man as the ninth stage, just below God-man, directly relates to his teachings on human spiritual evolution and the ultimate goal of becoming the Creator. It reinforces the idea of a structured path to spiritual enlightenment, with God-man at the apex.

  • Emphasis on Personal Responsibility: The assertion that blessings are earned, not given as gifts, aligns with his consistent message of individual accountability and effort in spiritual growth, rather than passive reliance on divine intervention. This is a recurring theme in his lectures, encouraging active participation in one’s destiny.

  • Practical Application of Spiritual Principles: The advice on daily self-reflection, treating others with respect (e.g., “lighting others’ candles”), and understanding marital dynamics as complementary rather than conflicting, demonstrates his focus on integrating spiritual wisdom into everyday life. This practical guidance is a hallmark of his teachings, aiming to transform individuals’ daily experiences.

  • Liberation from Worldly Toil: The declaration that True Man are “graduates of toil” connects to his broader vision of a world free from suffering and unnecessary burdens, a state he often promises through his policies and spiritual guidance. This concept offers a profound sense of hope and purpose to his followers.

  • The Role of God-man as Direct Teacher: His distinction between “preaching” (God-man’s direct word) and “interpretation” (human distortion) reinforces his unique position as the direct conduit of divine truth, emphasizing the importance of listening to his words without alteration. This underpins the authority of his lectures and the Haneulgung institution.
    Newly Emphasized Points or Developments:

  • The Quantum Superposition of Conscience: The introduction of “quantum superposition” to explain how internal reflection and resolution can subtly affect external relationships is a novel and modern scientific analogy used to explain spiritual phenomena, showcasing an evolving approach to explaining complex concepts.

  • Specific Number of True Man: The precise number of 1200+ True Man being “born” through White Heaven’s measurement provides a concrete and measurable aspect to spiritual progress, offering a tangible sense of achievement for the community.

  • Detailed Marital Dynamics: The extended discussion on marital roles as “brake and accelerator” and the “thousand peaks, ten thousand valleys” proverb offers a more in-depth and nuanced perspective on relationships, providing practical wisdom for navigating common human challenges within a spiritual framework.

  1. Action Items & Blessing Guidance

  2. Daily Self-Reflection: Before sleeping, reflect on your day’s actions, especially any harm caused to others, and resolve to rectify them. This purifies your conscience and prevents negative accumulation.

  3. Be a Light to Others: Actively seek to uplift and support others, “lighting their candles” rather than diminishing their spirit. This selfless act strengthens your own spiritual light.

  4. Embrace Your True Man Status: Recognize and live in accordance with your elevated spiritual status as a True Man, understanding that you are liberated from unnecessary worldly toil.

  5. Practice Respect in Relationships: Treat your spouse and others with the utmost respect, like royalty, to automatically receive similar respect and foster harmonious relationships.

  6. Monitor Your Spiritual Gauge: Continuously check your “spiritual gauge” (conscience and actions) to ensure you are on the right path, just as a driver monitors a car’s dashboard.

  7. One-Sentence Overall Summary
This lecture by Hug Kyung-young illuminates the profound spiritual liberation of becoming a True Man, a state achieved through diligent self-reflection, earned blessings, and the conscious effort to uplift others, emphasizing that true spiritual progress involves transcending worldly toil and embracing the complementary dynamics of human relationships, all while adhering to the direct teachings of God-man.

The Pinnacle of Spiritual Value: The True Person and Toil

  1. The Genesis of the True Person: Celestial Measurement and Spiritual Elevation
This discourse commences with the profound revelation that, through celestial mensuration, over 1,200 individuals have attained the highest spiritual echelon, becoming True Persons (眞人). This signifies a monumental spiritual advancement, a testament to a rigorous, divine assessment. The process of becoming a True Person is akin to a meticulous celestial survey, where one’s spiritual essence is measured and evaluated. This divine assessment is not visible to the human eye, unlike the dashboard of an automobile, which displays speed, temperature, and fuel levels. Yet, just as a driver must constantly monitor their vehicle’s dashboard to prevent catastrophe, individuals must remain cognizant of their spiritual standing, which is perpetually monitored by the heavens. Neglecting this celestial gauge can lead to spiritual peril, much like a driver who, despite decades of experience, neglects their car’s instruments and suffers a breakdown on the highway.

  2. The Analogy of the Salmon: Ascending Against the Current of Mundane Existence
The journey of spiritual ascent is eloquently paralleled with the arduous migration of the salmon. These remarkable fish, born in freshwater streams, embark on an epic journey to the vast ocean, only to return to their precise birthplace to spawn and complete their life’s mission. This upstream struggle, often against powerful currents and even waterfalls, symbolizes the immense toil (수고) and perseverance required for spiritual evolution. The salmon’s innate navigational ability, superior to any human-made GPS, guides it back to its ancestral waters, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to its inherent purpose. This relentless effort, this profound toil, is a fundamental aspect of their existence.

Humanity, too, originates from a celestial homeland, a spiritual 본양 (本鄕), and possesses an inherent instinct to return. This instinct manifests even in sleep, as humans instinctively orient themselves towards their spiritual origin, a privilege not afforded to beings of the lower realms. Sleeping in alignment with this celestial direction promotes physical and spiritual well-being, fostering introspection and self-correction. It is during these moments of repose, facing the spiritual 본양, that individuals are encouraged to reflect upon their daily actions, to acknowledge any transgressions, and to resolve to rectify them. This nightly ritual of self-purification prevents the accumulation of negative karma, which can otherwise manifest as psychological afflictions such as panic disorder or depression in later life.

  1. The Illumination of Others: A Beacon of Selfless Service
A crucial aspect of spiritual conduct involves illuminating the path for others. Each individual carries a metaphorical candle of life, representing their inherent vitality and spiritual essence. To extinguish another’s candle, to diminish their self-esteem or cause them distress, is a grave transgression. Instead, individuals are exhorted to rekindle the extinguished flames of others, to uplift and empower them. This act of selfless illumination does not diminish one’s own light; rather, it demonstrates an abundance of spiritual energy. This principle underscores the importance of daily self-assessment, reflecting on how one’s actions have impacted others, and striving to be a source of light and encouragement.

  2. The Liberation from Toil: The Attainment of the True Person
The attainment of the True Person (眞人) signifies a liberation from the burdens of mundane toil (수고). This state is not a gift bestowed without merit, but rather a culmination of diligent effort, unwavering dedication, and righteous conduct. It is a reward for those who have consistently acted with integrity and compassion. The spiritual hierarchy, ascending from the common person (俗人) through various stages such as the ordinary person (凡人), the petty person (小人), the great person (大人), the wise person (賢人), the sage (哲人), the enlightened person (道人), and the saint (聖人), culminates in the True Person (眞人), the ninth stage, just below the God-man (神人).

The True Person (眞人) is a graduate of the school of toil (수고), having transcended the need for unnecessary struggle. This liberation allows for a life of joy and spiritual fulfillment, free from the incessant anxieties and tribulations of the lower stages of existence. The transition to a True Person (眞人) is a celestial decree, often occurring without prior human notification, signifying a profound shift in spiritual status. However, this elevated status does not exempt one from vigilance; the spiritual dashboard must still be monitored, for complacency can lead to regression. Those who harbor negativity, criticism, or a judgmental outlook towards others often find themselves excluded from this spiritual advancement.

  1. The Nature of Divine Communication: Sermon and Faith
Divine communication manifests in two primary forms: the sermon (설교) and faith (신앙). The sermon (설교) is the direct utterance of the God-man (神人) to humanity, an unadulterated truth that should not be altered or reinterpreted by human intermediaries. Historically, religious leaders have often acted as interpreters or “great readers” (대독자), but their role is to convey the divine message faithfully, not to infuse it with personal opinions or create sectarian divisions. The advent of the God-man (神人) signals an era where direct divine instruction supersedes human interpretation.

Conversely, faith (신앙) represents humanity’s aspiration and belief in the divine. It is not merely a verbal prayer but a tangible expression of devotion through action and dedication. True faith (신앙) is born from hearing the divine sermon (설교) and is then manifested through 헌신 (獻身, devotion) and 순종 (順從, obedience). This active engagement with divine principles, rather than passive supplication, is the essence of genuine faith (신앙).

  1. The Wisdom of Relationships: The Complementary Nature of Opposites
Relationships, particularly marital ones, are illuminated through the analogy of an automobile’s accelerator and brake. Just as a vehicle requires both to function effectively, a household thrives on the complementary opposition of its members. If both partners always agree, the household risks ruin, akin to a car with only an accelerator, destined for a crash. The wife, often embodying the “brake,” provides a necessary counterpoint to the husband’s “accelerator,” ensuring balance and prudence. This inherent difference in perspective is not a source of conflict but a vital mechanism for stability and growth. Understanding and accepting these fundamental differences are crucial for a harmonious and prosperous household.

This principle extends to the broader human experience, encapsulated in the ancient wisdom of 천봉만학 (千峰萬壑), meaning “a thousand peaks and ten thousand valleys.” This signifies that for every thousand households, there are ten thousand challenges and difficulties. Life is inherently filled with these “valleys” of hardship, which arise from the interactions of the six senses (육경) with the myriad phenomena of the world (삼라만상). Only by transcending these sensory attachments, through a process akin to spiritual death, can one escape the endless cycle of suffering and attain the serene realm of Haneulgung.

  1. The Culmination of the Journey: The Crown of Righteousness
For those who have diligently fought the good fight, completed their spiritual race, and maintained their faith (신앙), a crown of righteousness (의의 면류관) awaits. This celestial diadem, varying in color and brilliance according to one’s spiritual level, is a testament to their virtuous deeds on Earth. It is a symbol of honor and reverence, recognized by all celestial beings. This promise of a glorious reward is not exclusive to a select few but is extended to all who earnestly yearn for the divine manifestation. Many historical figures, from David to Abraham, Confucius to Stalin, are said to have gathered in Haneulgung, having completed their earthly missions and now awaiting their ultimate spiritual destination. Their presence signifies the culmination of a long spiritual journey, a final gathering before ascending to the celestial realm.

The path to this spiritual apotheosis is one of continuous self-reflection, selfless service, and unwavering faith (신앙). It is a journey of understanding the divine sermon (설교) and embodying its principles through 헌신 (獻身, devotion) and 순종 (順從, obedience). This profound understanding and diligent practice lead to the ultimate liberation from toil (수고) and the attainment of the True Person (眞人) status, culminating in the eternal bliss of Haneulgung.

The Spiritual Value of Truth and Toil

  1. The Birth of the True Human (眞人) and Spiritual Measurement
Over 1,200 individuals have attained the highest spiritual stage of True Human (眞人), a designation determined by the celestial measurement of White Heaven (白宮). This achievement signifies a profound spiritual advancement. The concept of the True Human represents the pinnacle of spiritual evolution, a state where an individual transcends ordinary human limitations and embodies higher spiritual values. This spiritual progress is not a random occurrence but a result of meticulous celestial evaluation.

Just as a car’s dashboard provides crucial information like speed, temperature, and fuel levels, our lives are constantly being measured and evaluated by a celestial “dashboard.” This divine instrument, unlike a physical one, remains invisible to the human eye, making it impossible to deceive. Neglecting this spiritual gauge can lead to catastrophic consequences, much like a driver who ignores their car’s dashboard and runs out of fuel on a highway, risking a fatal accident. The celestial measurement ensures that every individual’s spiritual journey is accurately tracked, guiding them towards their ultimate destination.

The path to becoming a True Human involves a continuous upward evolution, akin to a salmon swimming upstream against powerful currents to return to its birthplace. This arduous journey, filled with toil (수고) and hardship, is a testament to unwavering determination and an innate sense of purpose. Salmon, despite their small size, possess an internal navigation system more precise than any human-made GPS, guiding them across vast oceans back to their native streams to spawn and complete their life’s mission. This inherent drive to return to one’s origin mirrors humanity’s spiritual quest to reconnect with its original home (本鄕).

  1. The Toil (수고) of Life and the Path to Spiritual Liberation
The concept of toil (수고), often translated as hardship or suffering, is central to the human experience. However, for those who have attained the status of True Human (眞人), this toil (수고) is a phase that has been transcended. The phrase “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” signifies liberation from this earthly toil (수고). This liberation is not a gift bestowed without reason but a reward for one’s diligent efforts and accumulated virtues. It is a recognition of the individual’s commitment to spiritual growth and their unwavering pursuit of higher ideals.

The journey of spiritual evolution is often depicted as a progression through various stages: from ordinary person (俗人), common person (凡人), petty person (小人), great person (大人), wise person (賢人), sage (哲人), enlightened person (道人), saint (聖人), and finally to True Human (眞人). The True Human (眞人) represents the ninth stage, just below the God-man (神人), the divine human. This progression signifies a continuous refinement of one’s character and spirit, moving away from worldly attachments and embracing a more profound existence.

The attainment of True Human (眞人) status means graduating from the endless cycle of toil (수고). It implies that one no longer needs to engage in meaningless struggles but can instead live a life of joy and purpose, guided by spiritual wisdom. This liberation allows individuals to focus on their spiritual journey, knowing that the burdens of earthly toil (수고) have been lifted. The celestial realm, White Heaven (白宮), constantly monitors and evaluates this spiritual progress, ensuring that each individual receives the appropriate recognition for their efforts.

  1. The Celestial Dashboard and the Importance of Self-Reflection
The celestial “dashboard” continuously measures our spiritual state, much like a car’s dashboard monitors its performance. This divine instrument, however, is not visible to the human eye, making it impossible to deceive. It records every action, thought, and intention, providing an accurate reflection of our spiritual standing. To navigate life successfully, we must regularly consult this internal spiritual gauge through self-reflection and introspection.

Before falling asleep each night, it is crucial to engage in a period of self-assessment, reflecting on our actions and interactions throughout the day. This practice involves asking ourselves: “Whose spiritual light did I dim today? Whose pride did I wound?” This nightly introspection allows us to acknowledge our shortcomings, seek forgiveness, and resolve any negative emotions or conflicts. By doing so, we prevent these negative energies from accumulating and manifesting as psychological ailments such as panic disorder or depression in later life.

This process of self-purification is akin to the concept of quantum superposition (量子重疊), where our sincere reflections and apologies, even if unspoken, are transmitted to the affected individuals. This energetic transfer can subtly alter their perception of us, leading to a more positive interaction the following day. By actively seeking to brighten the spiritual lights of others rather than extinguishing them, we fulfill our divine purpose. Just as sharing a flame does not diminish one’s own light, helping others on their spiritual journey enhances our own. This continuous cycle of self-reflection, purification, and selfless service is essential for maintaining spiritual well-being and progressing towards the celestial realm.

  1. The Dynamics of Relationships and the Wisdom of Opposites
Relationships, particularly within a marriage, often present a dynamic of opposing forces, much like the accelerator and brake pedals in a car. This inherent opposition is not a flaw but a fundamental design for balance and stability. If both partners always agree and push in the same direction, the “vehicle” of their household could easily crash. For instance, if both spouses enthusiastically invest in a risky venture without a dissenting voice, they might face financial ruin.

Therefore, it is essential to acknowledge and respect these differences. If one partner acts as the accelerator, driving forward with ambition, the other should ideally function as the brake, offering caution and prudence. This interplay of opposing perspectives ensures that decisions are well-considered and potential pitfalls are avoided. A wife’s concern about her husband’s excessive success, for example, might lead her to suggest investing in insurance or savings, acting as a brake to prevent future instability. This seemingly contradictory behavior is, in fact, a vital mechanism for the household’s long-term survival and prosperity.

Our ancestors understood this principle, encapsulating it in the phrase “Cheonbong Manhak (千峰萬壑)”, meaning “a thousand peaks and ten thousand valleys.” This metaphor illustrates that for every thousand families (peaks), there are ten thousand challenges or difficulties (valleys). Just as a single mountain range contains countless valleys, every family experiences a myriad of unique situations and struggles. Recognizing this inherent complexity helps us to approach marital and familial conflicts with greater understanding and patience, rather than viewing differences as reasons for separation. Embracing these opposing forces as complementary elements is key to navigating the intricate landscape of human relationships and fostering enduring harmony.

  1. The Nature of Divine Teaching and Human Faith
The teachings of God-man (神人) are direct sermons (說敎), delivered personally to humanity. Unlike the interpretations or readings of religious texts by human intermediaries, which are essentially recitations (代讀), the God-man’s (神人) words are the original, unadulterated truth. Human interpreters, such as monks or pastors, are meant to convey these divine messages faithfully, without altering or adding their own opinions. Any deviation from the original message, or the creation of factions based on differing interpretations, distorts the truth and leads to spiritual confusion.

The era of human interpretation and factionalism is now drawing to a close with the direct appearance of God-man (神人). The God-man (神人), whose mind is as vast as the ocean, absorbs all the “debris” of human misinterpretations and still remains pure and unchanged. This direct divine intervention signifies a new era where humanity can receive the truth directly from its source, eliminating the need for intermediaries who might inadvertently or intentionally alter the message.

Conversely, humanity’s expression of faith towards the divine is faith (信仰), which is a hopeful aspiration rooted in belief. This faith (信仰) is not merely a verbal prayer but a concrete action, a devotion (獻身) that stems from hearing and internalizing the God-man’s (神人) sermons (說敎). True faith (信仰) is demonstrated through obedience (順從) and dedicated service, transforming belief into tangible deeds. The concept of prayer (祈禱), if it is merely a vocal utterance without genuine action or belief, is deemed ineffective and can even be spiritually obstructive. The ultimate goal is to align one’s actions with one’s faith (信仰), thereby fulfilling the divine purpose and earning the crown of righteousness (義의 면류관).

  1. The Crown of Righteousness and the Gathering of Souls
The crown of righteousness (義의 면류관) awaits those who have fought the good fight, finished their race, and kept their faith (信仰). This celestial reward, as described in scripture, is not exclusive to a select few but is prepared for all who earnestly desire the God-man’s (神人) appearance. Each crown varies in color and brilliance, reflecting the individual’s spiritual level and the good deeds performed during their earthly life. These radiant crowns, adorned with precious gems like yellow jade or diamonds, symbolize the wearer’s spiritual beauty and the respect they command from celestial beings.

The current gathering at Haneulgung is a testament to this divine plan, bringing together souls who have been spiritually connected to God-man (神人) for millennia. Many prominent historical and spiritual figures, such as David, Abraham, Confucius, Mencius, and even figures like Stalin and Hitler, are said to be present, having been reincarnated to fulfill their ultimate destiny. These souls, who endured immense toil (수고) and sacrifice over thousands of years, have now converged to witness the culmination of their spiritual journeys and ascend to White Heaven (白宮).

This assembly marks the completion of a grand cosmic cycle, where individuals from diverse backgrounds and historical eras are united in their shared purpose. Even those from the ancient Israelite tribes, such as the Levites who were denied land and dedicated their lives to priestly duties, are among those gathered. Their past hardships and devotion have led them to this pivotal moment, where they can finally receive their crown of righteousness (義의 면류관) and experience spiritual liberation. The God-man’s (神人) presence signifies the ultimate resolution of their long-standing spiritual quests, guiding them towards their eternal home in White Heaven (白宮).

  1. The Illusion of the Six Senses (六境) and the Reality of Death
The human experience, characterized by the six senses (六境)—sight, hearing, smell, taste, touch, and mind—is often a source of toil (수고) and suffering. When these six senses (六境) are excessively indulged or allowed to chase worldly pleasures, they create a myriad of complexities and difficulties, metaphorically represented as “Cheonbong Manhak (千峰萬壑)” or “a thousand peaks and ten thousand valleys.” This intricate web of sensory experiences and desires leads to a life filled with challenges and emotional turmoil.

However, the moment of death brings an end to this sensory entanglement. When the six senses (六境) are separated from the physical body, the world of “Cheonbong Manhak (千峰萬壑)” ceases to exist for the individual. The mountains and valleys, the joys and sorrows, the desires and attachments—all vanish, leaving no trace. Death, in this context, is not an end but a liberation from the illusions and burdens created by the six senses (六境).

Upon death, celestial beings from White Heaven (白宮) arrive to guide the soul to its true home. This transition is a joyous occasion, as the soul is freed from the earthly realm and its inherent toil (수고). The God-man (神人) teaches these profound truths in a simple and accessible manner, making complex spiritual concepts understandable to all. This direct teaching emphasizes the importance of recognizing the transient nature of sensory experiences and preparing for the ultimate journey to White Heaven (白宮), where true peace and eternal joy await.

The Spiritual Blossom: True Beings and Diligence

  1. The Emergence of True Beings and Spiritual Measurement
This occasion marks the birth of over 1,200 True Beings (眞人), representing the highest spiritual echelon, as determined by the celestial measurements of White Heaven. This signifies a profound spiritual advancement.

  2. The Essence of Spiritual Value: The True Being
The True Being is considered the pinnacle, the very “flower,” of spiritual value. This elevated status is not arbitrarily bestowed but is the result of a meticulous evaluation conducted by White Heaven.

  3. Celestial Measurement and the Human Journey
The process of becoming a True Being involves a celestial measurement, akin to a vehicle’s dashboard. Just as a driver must constantly monitor the speedometer, temperature gauge, and fuel level to ensure safe passage, individuals must be aware of their spiritual metrics. Neglecting these spiritual indicators can lead to catastrophic consequences, much like a car breaking down on a highway due to an unheeded fuel gauge. This celestial dashboard, however, remains invisible to the human eye, making self-deception possible. Our life’s journey is continuously assessed by this unseen celestial mechanism.

  4. The Analogy of the Salmon: Striving Against the Current
The journey of spiritual evolution is comparable to the salmon’s arduous upstream migration. Large fish, unlike smaller ones, instinctively swim against the current, demonstrating immense effort and perseverance. Salmon, born in specific freshwater streams, navigate vast oceans only to return to their exact birthplace to spawn, overcoming waterfalls and numerous obstacles. This innate homing instinct, more precise than any human navigation system, exemplifies profound diligence (수고). This term, often translated as “toil” or “hardship,” signifies a profound, self-sacrificing effort. The salmon’s journey, fraught with peril from predators and fishermen, culminates in fulfilling its life’s purpose before death.

  5. The Human Quest for the Original Home
Humans, too, possess an inherent instinct to return to their original home, their spiritual origin. This is reflected in the way humans sleep, instinctively orienting themselves towards their spiritual home, which is upward. Animals, being of the earthly realm, do not share this orientation.

  6. The Importance of Daily Introspection and Purification
To maintain spiritual well-being, it is crucial to sleep facing upwards, towards one’s spiritual home. This posture promotes physical health by preventing pressure on internal organs. More importantly, it facilitates daily introspection. Before sleep, one should reflect on the day’s actions, acknowledging any unkind words or deeds. This process of self-reflection and mental apology, even if not verbalized, purifies the spirit. This internal resolution, through a phenomenon akin to quantum superposition, can subtly influence interactions with others, leading to positive shifts in relationships.

  7. The Metaphor of the Candle Flame: Illuminating Others
Each individual possesses a spiritual “candle flame,” representing their life force and inner light. It is imperative not to extinguish the flames of others through criticism or diminishing their self-esteem. Instead, one should strive to ignite the candles of those whose lights have dimmed. Sharing one’s flame does not diminish its brightness; rather, it spreads light without loss. This act of illuminating others is a fundamental duty. Daily self-assessment should include reflecting on how many flames one has extinguished or how many hearts one has wounded.

  8. Graduating from Toil: The Attainment of True Being
The phrase “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” signifies liberation from the burdens of diligence (수고). Those who achieve the status of a True Being have effectively “graduated” from this realm of toil. They are no longer bound by unnecessary hardships.

  9. The Hierarchy of Spiritual Evolution
Spiritual evolution follows a distinct hierarchy:

  • Commoner (俗人): The lowest level.
  • Ordinary Person (凡人): The next stage.
  • Petty Person (小人): Characterized by self-interest.
  • Great Person (大人): Possessing noble qualities.
  • Sage (賢人): Wise and virtuous.
  • Philosopher (哲人): Deeply insightful.
  • Taoist (道人): One who follows the path.
  • Saint (聖人): Highly virtuous and enlightened.
  • True Being (眞人): The ninth stage, signifying a graduate from the cycle of toil.
Above the True Being is the Divine Human (神人), representing the ultimate spiritual attainment. The gap between a True Being and a Divine Human is immense, an unbridgeable divide.
  1. The Nature of Divine Blessings: Earned, Not Gifted
Divine blessings are not arbitrary gifts but are earned through one’s actions and merits. There are no “free gifts” from the heavens. Just as a musician wins a competition through diligent practice, individuals receive blessings as a direct consequence of their virtuous deeds and efforts. The Divine Human offers equal opportunities to all, and those who are worthy and prepared are the ones who seize these opportunities.

  2. The Wisdom of Marital Dynamics: Brake and Accelerator
In the “automobile of family life,” spouses often represent opposing forces: one acts as the accelerator, the other as the brake. This inherent difference is not a flaw but a necessary balance. If both spouses act as accelerators, the family risks ruin. Conversely, if both apply the brakes, progress halts. This dynamic ensures stability and prevents reckless decisions. Therefore, differences in temperament and opinion between spouses should be embraced as essential for the household’s well-being.

  3. The Principle of “A Thousand Peaks and Ten Thousand Valleys”
The ancient wisdom of “A Thousand Peaks and Ten Thousand Valleys” (千峰萬壑) illustrates the myriad challenges and complexities inherent in human existence. Just as a single mountain range contains countless peaks and valleys, a thousand families will experience ten thousand different events and difficulties. This metaphor underscores the diverse struggles and experiences that define human life. Recognizing this universal truth helps individuals to transcend petty disputes and embrace a broader perspective.

  4. The Stages of Spiritual Realization: Already, Now, Not Yet
Spiritual realization can be understood through three stages: “already,” “now,” and “not yet.” As True Beings, individuals have “already” graduated from the cycle of toil, meaning their celestial destiny is secured. However, it is crucial not to act as if one is “not yet” a True Being, clinging to old habits or negative behaviors. The journey is to live in the “now,” embodying the qualities of a True Being.

  5. The Distinction Between Divine Sermon and Human Faith
A sermon (설교) is a direct message from the Divine Human to humanity. It is a sacred transmission that should not be altered or reinterpreted by human intermediaries. Those who merely “read on behalf” (대독) of the Divine should convey the message faithfully, without adding their own opinions or creating factions. The era of human interpretation and sectarian divisions is passing, as the Divine Human is now present to deliver the message directly.

  6. Faith, Devotion, and Obedience
Humanity’s aspiration towards the Divine is faith (신앙). This faith is born from hearing the Divine sermon. True faith is not merely verbal prayer but is expressed through concrete actions of devotion (헌신) and obedience (순종). Empty words are insufficient; genuine faith manifests in deeds.

  7. The Crown of Righteousness
As stated in 2 Timothy 4:6-8, those who fight the good fight, finish the race, and keep the faith are promised a crown of righteousness (義의 면류관). This crown, prepared by the righteous Judge, is not exclusive to a select few but is bestowed upon all who earnestly long for the Divine’s appearance. The color and brilliance of these crowns vary according to one’s spiritual level, reflecting the depth of their good deeds on Earth.

  8. The Illusion of the Six Senses and the Path to Liberation
The human experience of “A Thousand Peaks and Ten Thousand Valleys” and the myriad sufferings of the world arise from the interaction of the six senses (六境) with the external world. When the eyes, ears, nose, tongue, body, and mind chase after worldly pleasures, they create an endless cycle of suffering. Death, however, severs this connection, dissolving the boundaries of the senses and liberating the soul from this cycle. At this point, celestial beings arrive to guide the departed to the White Heaven.

Central Questions & Answers

  1. What is the spiritual significance of becoming a “True Man” (眞人) in Haneulgung?
Question: What does it mean to achieve the highest spiritual stage of “True Man” (眞人) within the Haneulgung philosophy, and how does it relate to overcoming life’s hardships?
Answer: Becoming a True Man (眞人) represents the pinnacle of spiritual evolution, signifying graduation from the “toil and heavy burdens” of earthly existence. This state is achieved through continuous self-reflection, good deeds, and adherence to divine principles, as measured by celestial “gauges.” It means being liberated from unnecessary suffering and having one’s path to the heavenly realm secured.
Key Quote: “The flower of spiritual value is True Man. True Man are those who have graduated from toil.”

  2. How does one achieve spiritual purification and maintain a clear conscience daily?
Question: What practical steps can individuals take to purify their spirit and maintain a clear conscience, especially when facing daily conflicts or regrets?
Answer: To achieve spiritual purification, one should regularly engage in self-reflection, particularly before sleep. Lying down facing the sky (towards one’s “original home”), one should review the day’s actions, acknowledge any wrongs committed, and mentally resolve to apologize or rectify them. This daily introspection prevents negative emotions from accumulating, fostering inner peace and spiritual clarity.
Key Quote: “You must have a time for self-purification. looking up at the sky, after hearing God-man’s words, you will think of it when you sleep. Don’t just sleep; for a moment, lie down, look at the sky, and examine your conscience.”

  3. What is the true nature of gifts and blessings from the heavens according to God-man (神人)?
Question: Are gifts and blessings from the heavens given arbitrarily, or are they earned through one’s actions and efforts?
Answer: Gifts and blessings from the heavens are never arbitrary “presents.” Instead, they are rewards earned through one’s own good deeds, consistent effort, and righteous conduct. The heavens provide equal opportunities, and individuals receive blessings because they have cultivated the “qualification” to receive them through their actions.
Key Quote: “It is not a gift from the heavens. It means that because you were good, consistent, diligent, and did better, the heavens gave it as a gift. what is the cause? It’s because you did well.”

  4. How should couples navigate differences and conflicts in marriage for a harmonious family life?
Question: In a marriage, how should partners approach their inherent differences and conflicts to ensure a harmonious and stable family life, rather than letting them lead to discord?
Answer: Couples should understand that their differences, like a car’s accelerator and brake, are essential for balance and stability. If both partners always agree, the “household car” might crash. One partner often acts as the “accelerator” (e.g., pursuing opportunities), while the other acts as the “brake” (e.g., exercising caution). Accepting and respecting these opposing viewpoints is crucial for the family’s survival and well-being.
Key Quote: “A husband and wife are like a brake and an accelerator; they are always opposite. If a couple’s intentions are too similar, the household will fall apart. A couple must always have opposing opinions for the household to function.”

  5. What is the meaning of “Cheonbong Manhak” (千峰萬壑) in understanding life’s challenges?
Question: What does the ancient Korean saying “Cheonbong Manhak” (千峰萬壑), meaning “a thousand peaks and ten thousand valleys,” signify regarding the nature of human life and its challenges?
Answer: “Cheonbong Manhak” illustrates that just as a mountain range has countless peaks and valleys, human life, particularly within families, is filled with innumerable challenges and difficulties. A thousand families will experience ten thousand different kinds of suffering and events. Recognizing this inherent complexity helps individuals understand that conflicts and hardships are a natural part of existence, encouraging them to rise above petty disputes.
Key Quote: “A thousand peaks and ten thousand valleys. What does that mean? If there are a thousand peaks, there are ten thousand valleys. if there are a thousand couples, there are ten thousand kinds of suffering that come with them.”

  6. What is the distinction between God-man’s (神人) “sermon” and human “faith” or “prayer”?
Question: How does God-man differentiate between a “sermon” delivered by the Creator and the “faith” or “prayer” expressed by humans?
Answer: A sermon (설교) is defined as direct communication from the God-man (神人) to humanity, conveying divine truth. In contrast, faith (신앙) is humanity’s aspiration and belief directed towards the divine, which should be expressed through concrete actions rather than mere words. True faith leads to devotion (헌신) and obedience (순종), while empty “prayers” (기도) can be ineffective or even “blocked.”
Key Quote: “What is a sermon? A sermon is words spoken by God-man directly to humans. What is faith? It is humans’ aspiration towards God-man. When you concretely act on that faith, it becomes devotion.”

This excerpt note captures the essence of a lecture by Hug Kyung-young, a prominent figure in Korean spiritual and political discourse. The lecture, titled “The Flower of Spiritual Value: True Person and Toil!”, delves into his unique worldview, offering insights on spiritual growth, human relationships, and the nature of reality. It’s a fascinating glimpse into the mind of a leader who blends spiritual teachings with practical life advice, often using unconventional analogies and humor.

The Path to Becoming a “True Person” (진인)

The Unseen “Dashboard” of Life
spiritual progress is measured by an invisible “dashboard”, much like a car’s dashboard shows speed and fuel. This “heavenly dashboard” constantly monitors our actions and intentions, even when we’re unaware. It’s a powerful metaphor for self-awareness and accountability.

The heavenly dashboard is characterized by being invisible to our eyes. It’s easy to deceive.

Your life is measured and surveyed by the dashboard, and you ascend to heaven.

The “Toil” (수고) of Life and Spiritual Graduation
Hug Kyung-young introduces the concept of “toil” (수고) as the hardship and effort inherent in human existence. becoming a “true person” (진인) signifies graduating from this toil, meaning one is no longer bound by unnecessary suffering. This idea offers a profound sense of liberation and purpose.

You are people who have shed the burdensome toil of this ordinary Earth.

Because you have become a true person, the word “toil” is already over. You are liberated from toil.

The Illusion of “Gifts” and the Power of Action
Hug Kyung-young challenges the notion of receiving “gifts” from a higher power, arguing that everything we receive is a direct result of our own actions and efforts. This perspective promotes self-reliance and personal responsibility, highlighting that blessings are earned, not simply given.

There are absolutely no gifts. There are no gifts at all; even those gifts came because of you at my time.

The gift came because you performed actions that deserved a gift. You reciprocated.

Wisdom for Harmonious Relationships

The “King” and “Queen” Dynamic in Marriage
Hug Kyung-young offers a unique take on marital harmony: to be a king, one must treat their spouse like a queen. This simple yet profound advice emphasizes that respect and honor given to others are reflected back to us, creating a virtuous cycle in relationships.

You just have to treat your wife like a queen. Do you know how easy it is to become a king in this world? If you dress your wife like a queen and treat her like a queen, you automatically become a king, don’t you?

If you want to be a king, make your wife a queen. Then you automatically receive the treatment of a king.

The Essential “Brake” and “Accelerator” of Marriage
Hug Kyung-young uses the analogy of a car’s brake and accelerator to describe the complementary nature of spouses. opposing viewpoints and different personalities are not obstacles but essential components for a balanced and successful household. This challenges the common desire for perfect compatibility.

If a couple’s intentions are too similar, the household will fail. A couple must always have opposing opinions for the household to function.

we put a brake and an accelerator in the car that is every family. That is the couple.

The “Thousand Peaks and Ten Thousand Valleys” of Life
Hug Kyung-young illustrates life’s complexities with the Korean idiom “천봉만학” (cheonbong-manhak), meaning “thousand peaks and ten thousand valleys.” This signifies that for every peak (joy or success), there are countless valleys (challenges and suffering). This perspective encourages acceptance of life’s inherent difficulties and fosters resilience.

If there are a thousand peaks, there are ten thousand valleys. to put it another way, if there are a thousand peaks, there are ten thousand valleys, meaning if there are a thousand couples, there are ten thousand kinds of suffering that follow.

Because there are a thousand peaks and ten thousand valleys, if there are thousands of couples, ten thousand incidents will arise from them.

1. What is considered the “flower of spiritual value” and the highest spiritual stage, achieved by over 1200 individuals through celestial measurement?

(True Man (진인), True Man represents the highest spiritual stage, signifying a profound level of spiritual attainment. A common misconception is that this status is self-proclaimed, but it is determined by celestial measurement.)

  1. True or False: a person who is a “True Man” (진인) is considered to have graduated from “Sugo” (수고), meaning they are free from unnecessary toil and suffering.
(True, True Man are “graduates” from Sugo, implying they are liberated from burdensome toil. A common misconception is that spiritual advancement eliminates all effort, but it specifically refers to unnecessary or burdensome toil.)

  2. What is the primary purpose of the “celestial dashboard” (하늘 계기판) mentioned by the speaker?
① To monitor one’s financial status
② To track one’s physical health
③ To measure one’s spiritual progress and actions
    ④ To navigate physical locations
(③ To measure one’s spiritual progress and actions, The celestial dashboard is described as constantly measuring one’s spiritual journey and actions, unlike a car’s dashboard which measures physical parameters. A common misconception is that this dashboard is visible or tangible, but it is explicitly stated to be invisible to human eyes.)

  3. Fill in the blank: when going to sleep, one should reflect on their actions and “look into their _____” (양심을 들여다 봐야 돼) to avoid accumulating negative feelings.
(conscience, He advises looking into one’s conscience before sleep to reflect on daily actions and prevent negative emotions from accumulating. A common misconception is that this reflection is only for major transgressions, but it applies to everyday interactions.)

  4. True or False: He suggests that receiving a “gift” from heaven is a result of random divine favor, not personal effort.
(False, He explicitly states that there are no “gifts” from heaven in the sense of unearned favors; rather, what one receives is a “reward” or “repayment” for their good deeds and efforts. A common misconception is that divine blessings are arbitrary, but they are presented as a direct consequence of one’s actions.)

Intermediate

  1. what is the fundamental difference between “Sermon” (설교) and “Faith” (신앙) in a spiritual context?
(Sermon is defined as words spoken by the Creator to humans, while Faith is the human’s aspiration or belief directed towards the divine. A common misconception is that both are interchangeable, but Mr. Huh differentiates them by the direction of communication.)

  2. He describes the relationship between a husband and wife as analogous to which two parts of a car?
    ① Engine and wheels
    ② Steering wheel and seats
    ③ Accelerator and brake
    ④ Headlights and taillights
(③ Accelerator and brake, He uses the analogy of the accelerator and brake to illustrate that spouses often have opposing views, which is essential for a balanced household. A common misconception is that marital harmony requires identical opinions, but Mr. Huh argues that complementary differences are vital.)

  3. What is the meaning of the phrase “천봉만학” (Cheonbong Manhak) as explained by the speaker, and how does it relate to human life?
(Cheonbong Manhak literally means “a thousand peaks and ten thousand valleys.” He interprets this to mean that for every thousand families (peaks), there are ten thousand difficulties or problems (valleys), signifying the myriad challenges in human life. A common misconception is that this phrase only refers to physical geography, but it’s used metaphorically for life’s complexities.)

  4. How does Mr. Huh connect the concept of “Sugo” (수고) to the life cycle of a salmon?
(He highlights the immense “Sugo” (toil and hardship) a salmon endures to return to its birthplace to spawn, emphasizing its unwavering commitment to its “본양” (homeland). This contrasts with humans who often neglect their spiritual “본양.” A common misconception is that “Sugo” is always negative, but here it illustrates a profound, purposeful effort.)

  5. What is His perspective on religious leaders who interpret and modify sacred texts, creating different “factions” (파)?
(He criticizes religious leaders who interpret and modify sacred texts, creating factions, stating that this is inappropriate for “대언자” (prophets/messengers) who should only “대독” (read aloud) the original words without alteration. A common misconception is that interpretation is always beneficial, but Mr. Huh views it as a distortion of divine messages.)

Advanced

  1. Explain His concept of the “celestial dashboard” (하늘 계기판) and its implications for individuals who have achieved the “True Man” (진인) spiritual level.
(The celestial dashboard is an invisible, divine system that constantly measures an individual’s spiritual progress and actions. Even for those who have achieved the “True Man” level, Mr. Huh warns against complacency, emphasizing that they must still diligently monitor their “dashboard” (conscience and actions) to avoid spiritual pitfalls, just as a driver must check a car’s dashboard. A common misconception is that reaching a high spiritual level means one no longer needs self-monitoring, but Mr. Huh stresses continuous vigilance.)

  2. How does Mr. Huh differentiate between “gifts” (선물) and “rewards” (보답) from a divine perspective, and what does this imply about human effort and divine interaction?
( heaven does not give “gifts” in the sense of unearned favors, but rather “rewards” or “repayments” for one’s diligent efforts and good deeds. This implies that divine blessings are not arbitrary but are a direct consequence of an individual’s actions and qualifications. It emphasizes personal responsibility and the idea that one “earns” their spiritual progress rather than receiving it passively. A common misconception is that divine favor is bestowed without merit, but Mr. Huh highlights a merit-based system.)

  3. Discuss His advice on how one should prepare for sleep, connecting it to spiritual purification and interpersonal relationships.
(He advises individuals to lie down facing the sky (본양) before sleep and reflect on their daily interactions, specifically identifying instances where they might have hurt someone’s feelings or “extinguished their light.” This “self-purification” (정화 시간) is crucial for preventing negative emotions from accumulating and is believed to spiritually transmit apologies, even if unspoken, improving future interactions. A common misconception is that sleep is merely a physical rest, but Mr. Huh frames it as an opportunity for spiritual and emotional reconciliation.)

열 번째가 God-man이죠.

이런 not예.

God-man이 왔지?
